Ugly God is an American rapper and record producer who rose to fame by sharing his original music on Soundcloud. By the end of 2017, he had garnered over 528,000 fans on Soundcloud, to which he posts his music releases. With over 33 million spins on SoundCloud and another 15 million YouTube views, Ugly God can be described as an internet sensation.

One of his hit singles Water debuted at number 100 on the Billboard hot 100 and made its way to number 80 on the chart. The single which has been streamed over 87million times since it was uploaded was produced by the rapper himself alongside Danny Wolf. The huge success of the ‘Water’ single earned him a deal with Asylum Records.

His debut Mixtape titled The Booty Tape was released in August 2017 and it peaked at number 27 of the Billboard 200. Since then, his fan base has been growing at a tremendous rate. Ugly God was named among the 10 members of XXL’s “2017 Freshman Class”. His Freshman Freestyle which he performed alongside rappers Playboi Carti,  and  have garnered over 18million views on YouTube.

Ugly God initially went by the moniker ‘Pussy Bacon’, however, he had it changed because his parents didn’t approve and due to social reasons. His first single I Beat My Meat was released in 2014 but had to be taken down because the principal at his High school didn’t approve of it. He reuploaded it in his freshman year at the University of Southern Mississippi and it has stayed uploaded since then. In 2016 he signed to the Red Dragon Label owned by iLoveMakonnen.

Ugly God is very funny and doesn’t take his music seriously. The rapper admitted that he initially started making music for himself, turned out that it caught people’s attention. His tracks are known to be hilarious with catchy beats which can make any listener nod along. His lyrics seem like what your high school class clown would recite in the locker room. His self-deprecating sense of humour and ludicrous lyrics endear him to his fast-growing fan base.

Ugly God’s Bio

Better known by his stage name Ugly God, Royce Davison was born on September 19, 1996, in Indiana. He grew up in Houston and Mississippi listening to artists like Ying Yang twins and R. Kelly. Ugly God began rapping and producing the summer before his senior year of High School. His first audience consisted of his schoolmates and teachers.

He enrolled at the University of Southern Mississippi where he majored in Computer Engineering but dropped out before completing a degree. He claims that he is still enrolled at the university but decided to stop attending classes when he started making money off music. After dropping out of college he formed the rap group “Little Dick Clique” with Famous Dex and Wintertime.

Girlfriend and Family

Ugly God has posted pictures of a presumed girlfriend on social media. She goes by the name Edith but she is known on social media as ‘Uglygoddess’. Her Instagram handle boasts over 38.1k followers and going by her Instagram posts, she must really be into high-end labels.

Very little is known about Ugly God’s family. We know the rapper’s decision to do away with his former moniker ‘Pussy Bacon’ was influenced by his parents. The rapper gave a hint that he has a sister in his debut tweet in April 2012. He has not made any reference to the supposed sister or his parents ever since.

• Ugly God loves animals

Several social media videos of Ugly God grabbing lizards and putting them on his nose are testaments to his fascination with the reptiles. This eccentric side of his turned out good for his publicity and was what got him noticed in the first place.

• He started his music career bearing the moniker “Pussy Bacon”

He, however, dropped the name so as to be more marketable and also because his parents objected to the unique name. A wise decision if you ask me.

• He thinks he is really ugly

He chose the pseudonym “Ugly God” because he considers himself to be really ugly. His Snapchat username is @Iamrealugly.

The rapper is known for his sobriety and he describes drinking and smoking as “whack”. One of the standout tracks in his first mixtape “Stop Smoking Black & Milds” was a campaign against a brand of cigarettes. According to the rapper, he has never been tempted to try either of the vices, even though he is constantly exposed to them.
