Vanessa Morgan Mziray was born on the 23rd of March, 1992 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada to an East African father and a Scottish mother. Proving she was made for the spotlight, the young beauty competed in the Junior Miss America pageant in 1999, taking home the crown.
Vanessa attended Colonel By Secondary School, which is located in the Beacon Hill neighborhood in Ottawa. After graduating from high school in 2010, she went on to attend Queen’s University, studying Philosophy.

In 2010, she appeared as Marion Hawthorne in Harriet The Spy opposite Jennifer Stone who played the titular character. Later that year, she played Sarah in My Babysitter’s a Vampire.
