The talk show host was born on the 23rd of August 1948 with the full name Steven Edward Schwartz but he became popularly known as Steve Edwards. Not much is known about his early life with regards to his childhood and early education but it was gathered that he went to the University of Miami where he bagged a degree in History then proceeded to the University of Houston to read Clinical Psychology.

Moving over to his career, Steve commenced his career as a media personality back in the ’60s when he worked for a radio station named KMSC in Clear Lake City, Texas. After working there for a while, he moved to KTRH radio station in Houston, where he was an anchor of a night call-in program. Steve Edwards is also known to have worked for the CBS TV channel and sometime in the ’70s, he was the host of the program AM Chicago and Friday Night with Steve Edwards – aired on WLS-TV.

Steve later relocated to Los Angeles and during his time there he worked for the CBS station KNXT where he served as a Weathercaster, Entertainment Editor, as well as the host of the show Two On the Town and Entertainment Tonight. In 1985, he moved to KABC TV where he anchored Sports Talk, as well as a self-named radio talk show called Steve Edwards Show. He was also seen on The Baxters which was a series created by Norman Live and later on, he became the host of Live in L.A which was aired on KCAL-TV before moving on to host KTTV’S Good Day L.A in 1995.

Back in 2017, news broke out that the KTTV station was laying off Steve Edwards who is known to have been with the station since 1995. Moreso, his rise to fame as a host is linked to his job at the station where he gained recognition via his appearance on Good Day L.A.

At first, the reason behind the laying off was not made public but with an official statement by the station on 11th December 2017, it was revealed by the news director at KTTV, Kris Knutsen that Steve Edwards’ appointment was terminated on the grounds of sexual harassment accusations.

It was also gathered that his case was not the first in the station as other popular hosts like and had been laid off due to sexual harassment claims. However, in Steve’s case, full details about how the incident occurred were not released and his dismissal was not disclosed by his co-host Megan Colarossi from Good Day L.A.
