For example, she has been a long supporter of Amnesty International and Greenpeace for many years, and together with English singer and guitarist Dave Stewart, she donated all of the profits made from Eurythmics’ 1999 Peacetour to both charities.

Annie Lennox had her first marriage when she was thirty years and it was to a German Hare Krishna devotee, Radha Raman but for some reasons which the singer is yet to divulge, her first marriage only lasted for just one year (1984-1985). It was, however, not difficult for the lady with the finest voice to get herself into a new relationship. This time, it was with Uri Fruchtmann, an Israeli film and record producer.

Fruchtmann who seems to be a year younger than Annie is also quite popular. He is the co-founder of Fragile Films a UK-based independent film production company and a non-executive Director of a TV and film production company, Ealing Studios. The two lived together for over a decade after being married in 1988 and separated in 2000. Prior to their separation, they had two adorable daughters – Lola who is now a beautiful singer and songwriter like her mother, and Tali Lennox who is into acting and modeling. Their son Daniel, was stillborn in 1988.

Lennox got into her third marriage with South African gynecologist, doctor, and a leading HIV charity chief, Mitch Besser, on September 15, 2012. The wedding ceremony was privately held in London with guests like actor Colin Firth and comedienne Ruby Wax in attendance.

Lennox met Mitch Besser when she traveled to South Africa to visit Mothers2Mothers, a non-profit organization Besser founded in 2001 to help in the fight against HIV transmission from mothers to their unborn children. Lennox became one of the organization’s supporters afterward. Besser at that time was married to his wife Debra of twenty-eight years and was blessed with two teenage sons.

Debra later filed for divorce after she found pictures of her husband holding hands with Lennox. A secret wedding followed shortly after Besser’s divorce. They agreed to a private boat wedding at river Thames in honor of Besser’s ex-wife and children.

Prior to her marriage to her newly found love, there were rumors of her being in a relationship with Dave Stewart, a guitarist she met in the 1980s when she was a lead singer for a British pop band, The Tourists and together they formed Eurythmics, which in a short while scored five Top 20 hits  including the No. 1 smash “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This).” The rumor turned out false as Annie later got married without even inviting him. Annie and her new lover are still living together happily.

Annie Lennox debut album Diva which had the singles Walking on Broken Glass was released in 1992. Her second album Medusa which ranked No.1 on the U.K. Albums Chart was released three years after.

In the month of January 2011, Annie Lennox was awarded the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her years of dedication to charity.
