Kansas born centre lineman, Cody Whitehair is attached to NFL’s Chicago Bears. He was expected to be in the team’s starting guard position following his draft but eventually manned the centre lineman position for the first time in his gridiron career and received a lot of acclamations for his standout performance in his rookie season.

Before his NFL career, Cody played his collegiate career at Kansas State where he was named to PrepStar magazine’s All-Midlands Region team. In addition to the foregoing, Cody Whitehair was drafted by the Bears in the second round 56th overall of the 2016 NFL Draft. He wears shirt No 65 and made his professional debut in September 2016. Who Is Cody Whitehair?

Born as Cody Michael Whitehair on July 11, 1992, in Abilene, Kansas, he attended Abilene High School. He was a four-year letter winner and a two-way lineman (played both offensive and defensive) for the Cowboys football varsity. During his senior season, Cody had 140 pancake blocks and recorded 81 total tackles (41 solo, 40 assisted) with 15 sacks and was named to PrepStar magazine’s All-Midlands Region team. In addition, he earned All-Kansas 4A honors from the KFBCA (Kansas Football Coaches Association) and Varsity Kansas and was instrumental in leading the Cowboys to a combined 31-11 record in four seasons.

The centre lineman was raised on a farm in Abilene where he worked long hours as a young boy, thus, his smart, tough and driven-to-work approach to play his game is well defined.

He played his collegiate career at Kansas State University Wildcats where he started 51 of 52 games over four seasons including 26 starts at left tackle, 22 at left guard and three at right tackle which is a true mark of his versatility. He is a gritty offensive linesman with sharp football IQ too obvious to be overlooked. Four years later, Cody Whitehair was drafted by the Chicago Bears.

On joining the Bears, the position he would play wasn’t immediately decided. He started as a left guard during the preseason but with Pro Bowl guard John Sitton joining them at the beginning of the season as a starter at left guard, Cody was ultimately moved to the starting centre position even though he has never played the position before then. Nevertheless, he proved his form as a standout, starting all 16 games in his rookie season and receiving tons of praise and recognition including being named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team.

In his professional debut in September 2016, he snap the football to Jay Cutler who was in the quarterback position as well as blocked the veteran . Furthermore, his elite performances paved the way for also a rookie to 1,313 rushing yards which is 2nd in NFL as well as helped the Bears to the third most passing yards in franchise history. He will surely rise to be on top of his game and become one of the best in the NFL in no time as he continues to step up his game.

Very little is known about the football player’s family. However,  his parents are Kevin and RaeLyn, the director of Impact Sports and Fitness.

He has already started a family of his own with his wife, Hannah, with whom he tied the nuptial knot in August 2016. Hannah is a flight attendant from Wichita, Kansas and the daughter of Matt and Janet Silverthorne. The duo reportedly met in a flight

While Cody represents Kansas State (K-S), Hannah is a Kansas University (KU) alumnus and interestingly, they incorporated their alma mater into their wedding by having KU and K-S themed cakes. The ceremony and reception which was a “farm affair” took place in Fulton Valley Farms in Augusta, Kansas. The couple resides in Chicago.

Cody Whitehair has the right features for a man with an impressive physique just right for his career in the NFL. With a height of 6 ft 4 in (1.93 m), and a body weight of 301 lb (137 kg), he could be ranked among the huge guys in the league. His body measurements are incredible as well and they include:
