Dennis Rodman is a former U.S NBA star who during his active years played for the Detroit Pistons, the Chicago Bull, San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Lakers. Rodman was a very strong and fierce defender during his playing days with much-rebounding abilities that he was nicknamed “The Worm”.

He describes himself as a  “bad boy” and was well known for dying his hair with different colors and for having many piercings and tattoos. After retiring from his NBA career, Dennis Rodman has kept himself relevant and has tried his hands on lots of other things like acting, wrestling and even writing – he has written several autobiographies.

Dennis Rodman was a member of the New World Order (nWo) and fought alongside former professional wrestler  at the Beach events, first was in 1997 against Lex Luger and The Giant, and the second was in 1998 against Diamond Dallas Page and Karl Malone.

In December 2008 Rodman was declared the winner of the first ever Celebrity Championship Wrestling tournament which was co-produced by Bischoff-Hervey Entertainment and .

Rodman had lead roles in two action films Double Team and Simon Sez which were blockbusters in 1997 and 1999 respectively. He had his own TV show The Rodman World Tour and also appeared in a few other reality television series. In 2004 Dennis won  $222,000 as the main prize of the 2004 edition of Celebrity Mole.

Recently, the former NBA star began making headlines for getting into what the media call slam-dunk diplomacy. Rodman who has become a self- made diplomat recently, struck up an unexpected friendship with North Korean Supreme Leader and believes he could straighten things out between the US and the Asian country. Dennis Rodman’s Relationship With Kim Jong Un And North Korea

The former NBA and Celebrity Championship Wrestling tournament winner who is close to U.S president also calls the North Korean dictator, Kim Jong Un his friend and this unexpected friendship began in 2013 when Rodman visited North Korea for the first time with Ryan Duffy (Vice Media correspondent) to host basketball exhibitions hosted by Kim.

Kim reportedly loves basketball and grew up watching Rodman’s team, the Chicago Bulls, play in the 1990s. After the epoch 2013 visit, Dennis Rodman described Kim as a friend for life and suggested Former U.S President call the leader for some peace talks due to their shared love for basketball. He also told Sports Illustrated that his mission is to break the ice between the two hostile countries and that he feels it’s been left to him to smooth things over.

Since the 2013 visit, Rodman has made several other trips to the Asian country with his basketball diplomacy approach. His most recent visit was in June 2017. Speaking about his bromance with the tyrant leader, Good Morning Britain reported that he hangs out with Kin all the time and that they would laugh, sing karaoke, and do a lot of other cool things together like skiing and riding horses.

Appearing on The Late Show with , revealed trust as what has kept his relationship with Kim Jung Un going these years. He added that he doesn’t discuss politics with Kim but that he hopes to open the door for political discourse, with him pretty soon and to tell him that the U.S doesn’t want war.

His Role In The US-North Korea Summit

Dennis Rodman’s bromance with the Korean leader has left many wondering what role he would be playing the US-North Korea summit coming up on June 12th, 2018 as the former NBA player is said to be meeting with Kim in Singapore ahead of the summit.

It is not very certain what his role will be at the summit, but political analysts are of the opinion that Rodman could play a vital very role in the negotiations between the two leaders with whom he is acquaintances. Rodman had in March 2018, praised the two leaders for their decision to finally meet. When asked if he would like to accompany Trump on the trip, he said he would love to if asked.

The summit which held at the Capella Hotel, Sentosa Island, Singapore on the 12th of June 2018 was the first in history between a sitting U.S president and a North Korean leader.
