Other Facts about Megyn Kelly’s Husband
Brunt’s career as a novelist sprung from his love for literature. According to him, “It’s a safe place to go,” for someone who’s shy. During his days as a CEO, Brunt would choose writing as a recuperation therapy and that’s how his novel emerged.
He married on March 1, 2008, at a wedding ceremony in Huntington, New York. Brunt told Times in the couple’s interview that she’s the type of woman who is clear about what she wants out of life and radiated such an energy about her that she lit up the room the first day they met.
He met his wife via a blind date when he was still a tech CEO and both of them hit it off so well. His looks and personality won Kelly over and they started dating. During the interview, Brunt revealed they started dating shortly after Kelly acquired a stalker, so she had security with her 24/7. Thus they had their “awkward” first kiss in front of the security guards.
Kelly described him as sincere, a good listener, clever and has a good sense of humour.
Then came the proposal in September 2007 at a beach in New Jersey. This was shortly after Kelly got transferred to New York, where Brunt lived, to take on her new gig as anchor of America’s Newsroom.
As one who found the woman he wanted to be with, Brunt popped the question with a fake ring, which according to him, reminds him of Titanic while they were sitting on a bench by the sea in Beach Haven, New Jersey.
Brunt is Kelly’s second husband. The TV correspondent was married to Dr. Dan Kendall (2001 to 2006) who has kept a low profile until 2011 when Kelly’s comment about New York congressman Anthony Weiner’s cheating scandal inadvertently reflected on her ex-husband.
To clear his name, Kendall spoke in an exclusive interview with Daily Mail Online to state with “100% certainty that he was “completely faithful to Megyn.” He added that he had texted Kelly at the time and she apologized.
Together, Brunt and Kelly had three children, two sons and a daughter. Their first son Edward Yates Brunt was born on September 25, 2009, and named after his two grandfathers; daughter Yardley Evans Brunt was born April 14, 2011; their third child Thatcher Bray Brunt was born July 23, 2013.
The family lives in New York City. While on tour to promote his third novel, ‘Trophy Son,’ Brunt said he and Kelly want to give their children the opportunities to try different things. He said this in reference to the story contained in the novel.
Besides defending his wife who has continued to make headlines with her feud with President and bringing in substantial ratings for her new NBC show, Brunt is staying out of the limelight. We can already guess what he’d be doing with his time – working on his fourth novel.
As a matter of fact, before ‘Trophy Son’ hit the market, the novelist has already started collecting thoughts and penning the next passion project.
