Though he is famously known as Dyrus in the gaming world, his birth name is Marcus Hill and he was born on the 30th of March 1992 in Honolulu, Hawaii, the United States of America to Mark and Sandy Hill. His parents both ran a plumbing business. While Marcus was growing up, he saw his father work hard in their family plumbing business as the man hoped his son will succeed him, taking over the business. However, he had other plans for himself as he was more interested in playing videos games than focusing on plumbing. This didn’t go down well with his father who believed that video games were just something for entertainment and no one can possibly earn a living from them. Well, as you know today, Marcus proved him wrong.

While in Kalani High School, a public school in Honolulu, the gamer was reportedly a good basketball player and participated in karate as well. After his graduation, he began working grudgingly in his father’s plumbing shop and at night engrossed himself chatting with pro-gamers like Dan and Andy Dinh who were already making waves in the League of Legends. Before this time, however, Dyrus started off indoors honing his gaming skills, playing games like Halo 2 and SOCOM: US Navy SEALs. In the course of time, he came across an ad for League of Legends to which he showed interest and began playing with the team ‘All or Nothing’. His friend Andy soon invited him to come and live in his gaming apartment in New York where he would devote more time to the game.

Dyrus left for New York and on arrival, he started playing in Andy’s brother’s team ‘Epik Gamer’ as their top Laner till there was an opening on ‘Team SoloMid’ (TSM). TSM’s top Laner TheRainMan resigned and this created an avenue for Dyrus to offer himself as a replacement for the position. His request was considered and subsequently granted and the rest became history for Marcus’ gaming career. TSM won the 2014 Spring split and the 2014 Summer split, they also won the regular season and the playoffs of the 2015 Spring NA LCS, then at the Intel Extreme Masters Season IX Katowice World Finals, they trashed Team WE 3 – 0 in the finals.

At this point with the TSM, Dyrus became the main target whenever they were facing an opponent. A lot of their opponent came to play them with a sole game plan – “kill-Dyrus”. Around this time too, he was losing his edge in the game to other gamers who were becoming more skillful, this in addition with the “kill-Dyrus” gameplay strategy ended up frustrating the League of Legends champion in every duel he went into with his team.

Ultimately, they finished 5th in the 2015 Mid-Season Invitational, ended up 3 places better (2nd position) at the summer split, lost to Counter Logic Gaming in the playoffs before finishing 4th in the 2015 League of Legends World Championship in Group D, “Group of Death” which had teams like ‘KT Rolster’, ‘Origen’, and ‘LGD Gaming’. This was the proverbial last straw that broke the camel’s back. Dyrus retired from League of Legends with a resounding ovation.

It is said that birds of a feather flock together. As it pertains to his love life, Dyrus’ heart didn’t have to wander too far before it found who is deserving of its love. The Twitch streamer is in a relationship with another Twitch streamer who goes by the name Emiru. He announced their relationship on the 29th of June 2016 and the two are reportedly living together in Wichita, Kansas. They are not yet married and we haven’t heard of any engagement as well.
