John Hein has been able to forge a somewhat successful career in radio having previously worked as a webmaster, maintaining, developing, publishing and coordinating websites. The radio personality is best known for working as an associate producer on The Howard Stern Show and then as co-host of The Wrap-Up Show.

Biography

Details about Hein’s early life are not available; however, we were able to find out that the man famed for his icy demeanor was born on November 24, 1967, in Hempstead, New York, United States. His ancestry is also not known but he is ethnically White.

Jon Hein attended Half Hollow Hills High School West before enrolling at the University of Michigan in 1985, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media Studies in 1989. During his time in college, Hein joined a sketch comedy troupe called Comedy Company which included actor and comedian Jon Glaser.

The pair and its other members reportedly took a year off school and toured the whole of the United States in a van. Hein revealed on air that they performed in places like Walla Walla, Washington and South Dakota’s School of Mines and Technology. Regardless of how rosy it might sound that the group was bold enough to pursue a career in comedy, Hein said things were tough for them at one point. He said that at one time, the group performed for a crowd of just two people. They, however, took solace in the fact that they were honing their crafts and didn’t let other things bother them.

After abandoning comedy, Hein graduated from school and then later created JumpTheShark.com, an entertainment and celebrity news website. Hein operated the website until 2006 when he sold it to TV Guide, the bi-weekly television program listings magazine owned by Gemstar Media Company, for a fee of around $1 million. It has however since been reported that Hein received a figure in the range of $5 – $10 million.

John Hein swiftly moved on to radio to work as an associate producer. After briefly hosting the Super Fan Roundtable, the staff of Stern chose him to co-host The Wrap-Up Show which premiered on January 9, 2006, the first day Howard moved to Sirus. He received positive reviews from listeners to go ahead and become a mainstay on the show.

Since becoming a host, John Hein has appeared on The Friday Show with Gary Dell’Abate and Ralph Cirella on the Friday mornings. He has also gone ahead to host his own shows; first the radio programs Geektime! and the Fast Food Show on Howard 101. In 2010, he began hosting a weekly comedy show titled The Bonus Show with Rachel Fine on the now shut down Howard TV. After that, he began hosting Fast Food Mania on the digital, cable and satellite channel, Destination America. On the show, Hein displays his expertise for food and discusses the history of various restaurants and how different foods are prepared.

John Hein is married to Debra Ganz with whom he has two daughters. It is not clear what Debra, or Debbie as she is called by her friends and family, does for a living, however, her husband looks like he adores every little bit about her. He often posts pictures of his beloved on Instagram, writing about how he kicked above his weight class to bag a woman like her.

The couple got married sometime in 1990 having met each other while attending the University of Michigan. They have since that time been together and currently reside in their home on Long Island, New York.

Relationship with Howard Stern

Howard Stern is a multi-millionaire media personality who describes himself as the “King of All Media.” He is the host of the talk radio show, The Howard Stern Show, where Jon Hein works as an associate producer. Hein further co-hosts The Wrap-Up Show with The Howard Stern Show executive producer Gary Dell’Abate. The show comes right after Stern’s main show and then discusses the events of the earlier show for the remainder of its four-hour time slot on Sirius XM.

So inadvertently, John Hein and Howard Stern have a professional relationship whereby Hein is one of Stern’s many staff.
