On the 24th of May, 1985, in Wayne, Pennsylvania, the political correspondent was born to her parents; father Bruce, a real estate design and construction manager and mother Krista, a yoga teacher. Kasie has just one sibling, a younger sister named Carly Hunt who was a golfer for both Georgetown Hoyas and Maryland Terrapins women’s golf teams.

For her early education, Kasie Hunt attended Conestoga High School. She graduated in 2003 and proceeded to enroll at George Washington University where she studied International Affairs. The young girl stood out in university as she graduated in 2006 with a magna cum laude degree. She subsequently studied for a master’s in Sociology at St. John’s College, Cambridge.

During her time as a student, Hunt gave a hint of her interest in journalism as she took an internship position in the political unit of NBC News. Following the completion of her school work, she worked for a number of publications. Her first job was for National Journal’s CongressDaily where she held the position of health policy reporter and famously wrote about the passage of President Obama’s Affordable Care Act. By 2010, she was writing for Politico and covered the mid-term elections of the year. The following year, she moved to join the Associated Press as a national political reporter and famously covered the presidential campaign of Republican hopeful Mitt Romney.

In 2013, Kasie Hunt returned to NBC News where she was charged with covering Congress and politics as an off-air reporter and producer. Sometime later, she began working for MSNBC as a political reporter before she was elevated to the position of political correspondent in 2014. Two of the shows she is best known for appearing regularly on the two networks are NBC News’ Morning Joe and MSNBC’s Hardball with Chris Matthews. She also appears on Bloomberg’s With All Due Respect.

Having earned her stripes in the field and impressed her bosses, Hunt was handed her very own talk show on MSNBC titled Kasie DC in 2017.

Kasie Hunt is a married woman. She is married to her heartthrob Matt Rivera, an employee of NBC News who holds the position of Senior Digital Producer for Meet the Press with Chuck Todd. Rivera, who has been working for the network since 2010, also works as a multimedia producer and reporter at The Wall Street Journal. He is even further an adjunct professor at New York University.

Born in 1982, Rivera is the son of retired sheriff Daniel O. Rivera and registered nurse Loraine V. Vetter. As the story goes, the pair met for the first time in 2012 and almost immediately started dating. After a few years together, Matt clearly knew he was ready to spend the rest of his life with his girlfriend and thus proposed to her in front of the picturesque Santa Lucia Mountains.

The couple went on to exchange vows on the 6th of May 2017, at Shenandoah Woods, a lodge and retreat facility in Stanley, Va. Marian Sieke. They reportedly then spent a two-week vacation in Thailand before returning to their jobs.

In March 2019, Kasie Hunt and her husband announced that there were expecting a child later on in the year. On the 4th of September 2019, they welcomed a son named Mars Hunt Rivera.
