Marcia Clark, an American author and television personality who also happens to be a Prosecutor, rose to fame when she was the lead prosecutor in the 1995 trial of the NFL player and actor, O. J. Simpson who was facing charges for killing his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. However, prior to this, she started her career as a public defender with the state bar of California then turned into a prosecutor before finally leaving the District Attorney’s office.

Marcia Clark has also made several television series appearances which include a small role in the sitcom Pretty Little Liars, Now You See Me, and the documentary sitcom O.J.: Made in America. She has many books to her credit which include Guilt by Association of 2011, Guilt By Degrees published in 2012, the 2013 Killer Ambition and the book titled The Competition published in 2014.

Marcia Clark was born on August 31, 1953, to Rozlyn and Abraham Kleks in Alameda, a city in California and was brought up in a Jewish family alongside her brother who is now an Engineer. Her father’s job was as a Chemist in the U.S federal agency Food and Drug Administration which is under the Health and Human Unit.

She had her high school education in a public high school called the Susan E. Wagner High school located at Manor Heights, Staten Island, New York City. Marcia later proceeded to the University of California, Los Angeles to study political science and graduated in 1976. After her degree in political science, she went further to obtained Juris Doctorate degree from Southwestern University School of Law.

Marcia Clark started her career when she entered the State Bar of California in 1979 however, prior to being a prosecutor she worked as a public defender in Los Angeles. She has also served at the Los Angeles County, California, in the capacity of a deputy district attorney and she was the lead prosecutor for the trial of Robert John Bardo who was sentenced for the murder of actress Rebecca Schaeffer.

Upon leaving the District Attorney’s office, Marcia Clark ventured into sitcoms and started appearing on television series like Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt where she was parodied, The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story and O.J.: Made in America which was a short documentary sitcom. Clark has also written a pre-production script for the sitcom Borderland which is said to have covered very sensitive and unethical truths about her past employment place, The District Attorney’s Office but it was never aired although it was bought off by the FX TV channel. The lawyer has also written for The Daily Beast on crime-related issues and she has several books for which she is credited.

Relationship With O.J. Simpson

Coming to her personal life, Marcia got married in 1976 to an Isreali man named Gabriel Horowitz who plays the board game, Backgammon at a professional level. The pair met during her days at UCLA but their union didn’t last for quite long as they both parted ways after four years.

After the crash of the first marriage, Marcia got married that same year to Gordon Clark who worked for the Church of Scientology. The Union was blessed with two children but the marriage ended in divorce after fifteen years.

Marcia Clark led the prosecution with Deputy District Attorney, Christopher Darden for the murder case of Orenthal James Simpson, who is said to have killed his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, Nicole’s friend in a very gruesome manner back in 1994. However, O.J was discharged from all allegations in 1995 and during the course of the trial, Clark faced a lot of animosity from the public who taunted her even to the extent that her dress sense was also a topic on tabloids. She was even blamed for O.J Simpson’s acquittal on the grounds of incompetence by the former American attorney, Vincent Bugliosi.
