Aside from the pitcher and catcher, the shortstop position is considered the most important and demanding defensive position in the game of baseball. The job of a shortstop is not an easy one, thus, whoever a team selects for that job has to be someone who is strong, agile and able to start and stop running quickly. So when the Milwaukee Brewers of the Major League Baseball (MLB) chose Venezuelan professional baseball shortstop, Orlando Arcia, for that tough job, they certainly made a wise choice.

Orlando also played at the 2015 All-Star Futures Game. Between 2014 and 2015 he also played for the Caribes de Anzoategui of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League during MLB’s offseasons.

He started the 2016 season with the Class AAA Pacific Coast League’s Colorado Springs Sky Sox. In August of the same year, he made his first major league appearance. At the end of the season, he appeared in fifty-five Brewers games hitting .219 with four home runs and seventeen RBIs. In 2017, he played one hundred and fifty-three games with .277 hits, fifteen home runs, and fourteen stolen bases.
