Biography: Who Is Robert Woods?

His full name is Robert Thomas Woods and he began life as a little child born on April 10, 1992, in Gardena, California where he also grew up. As Robert came of age, his parents enrolled him at Junípero Serra High School in Gardena, California where he played football and ran track in the school’s athletic program.

Particularly in football, the kid and his teammates in their senior year went undefeated 15-0 to win the CIF Division 3 state championship in 2009 following which he got recognized as a USA Today High School All-American. For this, he played in the 2010 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Also, his high school football career saw him pile up a total of 147 carries for 2490 yards, 20 carries for 194 yards, 183 tackles, 15 interceptions, 19 touchdowns, 1 fumble recovery and forced fumble.

Robert Woods began pursuing his college career with the USC Trojans football team of the University of Southern California beginning in the year 2011 through 2013. He proved himself to be one of the most prolific wide receivers and returners in the entirety of his college class. As Robert played out his career in college, he smashed several records and set many along the way. In all, the lad recorded a total of 253 receptions, 2,930 receiving yards averaging 11.6 with 32 receiving touchdowns, he rushed for 142 yards and averaged 10.1.

The USC prodigy got into America’s apex football league  – the NFL – as the 41st overall in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft as picked by the Buffalo Bills. His contract was the usual four-year rookie contract which sadly began in his team’s loss to the New England Patriots. That notwithstanding, Robert was impressive in his debut game.

In week 4 against the Baltimore Ravens, the California-born kid started firing on all cylinders as he recorded his career high reception and yards against the Jacksonville in Week 15.

His productiveness for his team continued throughout the season in all 14 games he played and he recorded 587 receiving yards with 40 receptions and 3 receiving touchdowns. The 2015 season turned out awry as he was way for much of the season nursing a groin injury. For the two games he played however, Robert Woods had a meager 5 receptions while his teammates and Charles Clay did much of his work in the season.

There was a turn around of events in the 2016 season as Watkins was down with an injury which saw him on the injured reserve list. Though Robert started the season with two different injuries, they were, however, not severe as he recovered on time. From the 13 games he played out of which he started 10 in the season, the wide receiver recorded 613 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.

Whatever that has a beginning they say, alway shave an end. The end of the 2016 American football season was the time for Roberts Woods to bid his farewell to the Buffalo Bills following the end of his four-year rookie contract. Again, the end of a chapter in any prolific footballer’s career marks the very beginning of another, that new chapter in Robert’s career had the Los Angeles Rams written as its title.

For a five-year contract worth $39 million which was signed on March 9, 2017, Robert Woods joined The Mob Squad. He had his debut and first victory for the Los Angeles Rams against the Indianapolis Colts after which they went on a winning streak before being dehorned by the Minnesota Vikings in week 11. That notwithstanding, Robert ended his first season with the Los Angeles Rams with a career-high 781 receiving yards, 5 touchdowns, and 34 rushing yards.
