Sara Haines is married to Max Shifrin, a US attorney. The couple met on a free online dating site, OkCupid. Her brother and her best friend had helped her set up a profile and it wasn’t long before Shifrin sent a message across. They met up and had drinks at a bar, coincidentally, Haines’ brother also happened to be there with a date having drinks so it turned out to be a group date.

Haines’ husband Max Shifrin earned a B.A. in History and Political Science in 2005 from the University of Connecticut. He earned his Juris Doctor in 2010 from Brooklyn Law School. As a law student, Max worked as a student prosecutor at the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Following law school graduation, Max worked at Fred Frank as an associate from 2011 to 2013. He then joined Storch Amini & Munves where he worked for a little over a year.
New York firm, Baker Hostetler in 2014 hired Max to work on “complex commercial litigation.” Max represents a variety of clients including individual clients from vast industries, large institutions as well as small businesses.
Sara and her husband welcomed their first child, a son named Alec Richard Shifrin on March 5, 2016. The child’s birth was announced through Periscope. Baby Alec weighed in at 7 lbs 5 ounces. On December 23, 2017, the couple welcomed their daughter Sandra Grace Shifrin, named after Sara’s mother.
