Bio – Who Is Sara Hopkins?

It was in Colombus, Georgia, in the United States of America that Sara Hopkins was born. Records have it that her date of birth was on the 16th of March, 1991. She mostly keeps information about her parents from the public eye but it is said that she was adopted at a young age. Growing up, the lassie adored her parent’s love-filled marriage; she was raised in Harris County along with her two sisters, Kristin and Casey.

Hopkins attended Auburn University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. In 2014, she became a News Reporter/ Journalist for WWAY News Channel 3. Sara would later move on to being an On-Air Host/Director of Special Projects. In one of her videos, she claimed to have won an award for her journalism. As fate would have it, the lady decided to leave her journalism career so as to take on a full job of being a Viner. She is currently a Snapchat star with a lot of fans.

Beyond making and sharing short videos, Sara Hopkins is involved in brand endorsements. Some of the brands she has worked with are Target, General Motors, Warner Brothers, Coca-Cola, Starbucks, Marriot, and Amazon. In addition to that, Sara does a lot of travellings where she gets to share her wealth of experience and knowledge on social media marketing around the world.

The Viner has about 64,830 subscribers on YouTube, 57,900 followers on Twitter with about 249,900 following her on Instagram. She also manages an Instagram account, @lillyandchico, for her two Pomeranian dogs, Chico and Lilly. The account has over 14,700 followers.

Sara became friends with Robby Ayala and they dated for a few years. Eventually, they got engaged on New Year’s Eve (December 31, 2016) while on vacation in Roatan Honduras; the lovers announced it on her YouTube channel with a video. In November 2017, Sara and Robby got married. They live happily in Peachtree Street Northeast, Atlanta, Georgia, United States.

How She Become a Vine Phenomenon and Snapchat Star

Vine was founded in June 2012 and acquired in October 2012 by Twitter, an American microblogging website. With the introduction of this 6-seconds social video sharing application, Sara Hopkins began to make and upload vines.

Soon, her fan base began to increase and it became really stressful to run both her social influence and newscasting career. As Sara had already garnered quite a large following on vine as much as 950,000, she had to make a tough decision of keeping one career and leaving the other behind. Her family came through for her and supported her. Thus, she gave up her day job as a Journalist/Newscaster to become a full-time Vine star.

This decision has opened up doors of opportunities for her with the first coming shortly after Sara became a part of the platform, Niche, which was designed for content creators. It was on this platform that she met Robby Ayala who was only a fellow Vine star to her. The two had much in common as Robby also made a big decision of dropping out of Law School to become a full-time Viner. Luckily, it also turned out well for him.

On 27th October 2016, it was announced that the uploading option on Vine will be disabled. Users were left with the options of viewing and/or downloading already uploaded videos. This changed things for a lot of Vine stars with the really smart ones moving on to pursue other social media platforms.

Sara promptly moved on to sharing her videos on Snapchat, Instagram, YouTube, Musical.ly and of course, Twitter. She stuck to her username ‘SayHop’ for all her accounts. Her beloved fans and much more followed her on these platforms, especially Snapchat where she has quickly acquired recognition as a Snapchat star. Sara has a 4.8/5 rating on Snapchat from 23 reviews.
