Willam, as he is simply referred to is a world-famous American drag queen, actor, producer, TV personality, recording artist, vlogger and author. He is an all-round showbiz guy who gained popularity for his role as a transgender woman Cherry Peck in Ryan Murphy’s medical TV series Nip/Tuck and more recently as a contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race. Willam Belli is also notorious as the first and only contestant to have ever been disqualified from the RuPaul’s Drag Race.
Despite his disqualification, William is one of the most successful contestants of the RuPaul’s Drag Race. The publicity he got on getting disqualified gave a major boost to his showbiz career. He currently has over 800 000 subscribers on his YouTube channel. He was nominated for “Most Addictive Reality Star” at the 2012 NewNowNext Awards.
His first book, Suck Less: Where There’s a Willam, There’s a Way was released in October 2016. His most recent projects include the weekly half-hour talk show Suck Less. The drag queen received a lot of backlash on social media after he made seemingly transphobic comments on an episode of the show which featured fellow drag queen Courtney Act.
William Belli’s Bio, Age
Willam Belli is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was born on June 30, 1982, as the youngest of two children. According to the drag queen himself, he was named “Willam” after his Yugoslavian grandfather and his last name Belli is the Italian word for “Beautiful men”. He had his middle school and high school education in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
His first acting credit was on two episodes of the crime drama series The District after which he made appearances in other TV series throughout the 2000s. Willam Belli has a number of feature films to his credit including American Wedding, Because I Said So, Tower Heist, Cinema Verite and the 2011 horror film BloodRayne: The Third Reich.
He was contacted to audition for RuPaul’s Drag Race by the production company of the reality TV show. In November 2011, he was announced as one of 13 contestants competing in the 4th season of the show. He was later disqualified because he violated some of the rules of the show. It is believed in some quarters that Willam violated those rules intentionally so that he could leave the show and be able to fulfil a previously booked off-Broadway engagement.
As a recording artist, William has been a part of two musical bands so far, including “Tranzkuntinental” and the L.A. drag queen pop trio, DWV. Tranzkuntinental featured William alongside other drag queens Kelly Mantle, Rhea Litré and Vicky Vox. William announced his exit from the group in April 2013 in order to focus on DWV.
As a member of the DWV group, William found viral success with the music video parodies “Chow Down” and “Boy Is a Bottom”. He also made an appearance in the video of Rihanna’s 2011 single “S&M” alongside fellow drag queens Detox and Morgan McMichaels as backup dancers. DWV however disbanded in 2014 due to personal conflicts among the bandmates.
After DWV, Willam continued as a solo artist and has released three studio albums: The Wreckoning, Shartistry in Motion and Access All Areas. He has also teamed up with fellow Drag Race stars Alaska and Courtney Act on a collaboration known as American Apparel Girls. The fierce trio has released a number of singles including “American Apparel Ad Girls” and “Dear Santa, Bring me a Man”. The highly outspoken drag queen is currently 35 years of age, just a few months shy of his 36th birthday.
Willam Belli’s Husband
Willam Belli is married to a man named Bruce. According to the controversial drag queen, they have been together for over 10 years and they got married in California in 2012. Willam’s husband is a lawyer and a software developer.
Willam’s husband is also the reason why the drag queen got disqualified from the 4th season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Belli has admitted that he received conjugal visits from his husband which was in violation of the rules of the show and that was the reason why he got disqualified. That disqualification is probably the best thing that has happened to Willam’s showbiz career.
Net Worth
The drag queen has amassed quite a reasonable fortune for himself. His net worth is currently estimated at $1 million. As an all-round entertainer, Willam has several sources of income.
In addition to his fairly successful acting career, the drag queen also went on tours with his now-defunct music group DWV. He also has some really juicy endorsement deals with American Apparel, Sephora, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics and Magnum Ice Cream. His YouTube channel is doing pretty well with about 800,000 subscribers and counting.
Height and Body Measurements
For a man who stands on 6 inches stilettos most of the time, many are curious about how tall he really is. Well, without those stilettos, Willam Bell is just 5 ft 10″ in height, not too bad.
His body measurements including his bust, waist size and hip size are currently not available.
