William Nylander may just be in his early twenties, but he is no new face in Ice Hockey. This young and handsome sportsman has done quite well for himself since venturing into the sport. In 2009, he participated in the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with the New York Rangers minor ice hockey group. In 2013, William earned a gold medal while representing Sweden at the 2013 World U-17 hockey challenge. He closed his 2013–14 season with a successful 22-game rookie stint in the SHL, getting considered as a possible candidate for the SHL Rookie of the year.
He was chosen in the first round, eighth overall, in the 2014 NHL Entry draft. This talented ice hockey star hails from Sweden but was born in Calgary Alberta, Canada. His birthday is on the first of May, 1996 and he bears more than three names; William Andrew Michael Junior Nylander Alterius. William spent a major part of his childhood years in the United States but spent summers in Sweden where his family eventually moved to when he was 14. His siblings are named Daniella, Stephanie, Michelle, Jacquline, and Alexander.
In 2014, after he made the draft, the Maple Leafs unveiled they had signed him to a three-year, entry-level contract. The ice hockey star made his NHL debut on 29 February 2016 when he competed against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Though William Nylander is Canadian-born, the International Ice Hockey Federation ruled in 2012, that he is entitled to represent his home country, Sweden in international play.
