As a successful media personality, Willie Geist is the definition of a chip off the old block. The show anchor is actually the offspring of a two-time Emmy Award-winning journalist, columnist, and author, Bill Geist. Willie Geist co-anchors MSNBC’s Morning Joe and he is the sole anchor of Sunday Today with Willie Geist. Willie was born into the reputable Geist family, his dad Bill is a renowned journalist, columnist, and author, he is a two-time Emmy Award winner and is currently with CBS as a news correspondence. Bill has been very supportive of his son’s career in journalism and helped in paving his way into the world of broadcasting. Willie’s first book was co-authored by his father. His mom, Jody Geist earns a living as a social worker. Willie is the great-grandson of Herbie Lewis, a celebrated hockey player who was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Another notable member of the Geist family is Willie’s younger sister, Libby Geist Wildes who worked as an executive producer for ESPN documentary. In 2008, Libby bagged a George Foster Peabody Award for Black Magic, a popular documentary video on basketball programs at historically black universities and colleges of education. Libby’s second Peabody Award came in 2010 with 30 for 30 – another documentary, focusing on the anniversary and funding of ESPN.

Going into his romantic relationship, Willie Geist is a married man. On the 24th of May 2003, Willie tied officially married his middle-school girlfriend Christina Sharkey in Humacao, Puerto Rico. Since they met in middle school, they have been inseparable, they spent every stage of their formative years together with a record of 16 years courtship before the onset of their connubial life.

The couple has spent 15 blissful years in marriage without the inkling of any separation or divorce. They made their home in New York City with their two kids; a daughter, Lucie Joy Geist, joined the family on June 14, 2007, and son George Geist, was born in 2009.

The handsome NBC anchor is funny, witty and charming. When he is all garbed up in his formal outfit with his normal side part hairstyle, he oozes an appealing on-air presence. Willie Geist stands at a height of 6 feet 3 inches or 1.93m but his weight is not listed. His appearance is marked by his great height, light brown hair color, dazzling smile, and lean physique. Where Is Willie Geist Now?

Willie himself announced his impending exit from the anchorage of the third hour of Today Monday morning. According to the television personality, he has been multi-tasking a lot lately, from Morning Joe which is a daily program to the third hour of Today Monday morning and also the Sunday Show. He further said that he needed to step down from one of the shows which happens to be the third hour of Today Monday morning with and Willie will be replaced by Billy Bush, but he will still be hosting Morning Joe and Sunday Today.

At least his ardent fans won’t have to miss his presence entirely on TV as he’s still very active in his career as a presenter.
