Ylona Jade Garcia is a Filipino-Australian singer, songwriter, actor, and television personality who was born on February 28, 2002. Garcia rose to notoriety after appearing as a housemate in the first half of ABS-reality CBN’s show Pinoy Big Brother’s second special season in 2015, where she finished as the competition’s first runner-up. She has wanted to be a singer since she was a child, and she quickly began competing in singing competitions in both the Philippines and Australia. When she was chosen at the audition for ‘Pinoy Big Brother,’ she already had a modest degree of celebrity. Her outstanding performance earned her the title of “Daldal Darling ng Australia” for her outstanding performance on the show (Talkative Darling of Australia). Ylona Jade Garcia was born in Sydney, Australia, on February 28, 2002, to Filipino parents Peter Garcia and Caridad Navalle-Garcia, both of whom work as doctors in Australia. She is the youngest of five children. Garcia began performing as a front act for numerous Filipino singers and musicians, including Martin Nievera, Sarah Geronimo, and Rivermaya’s former main vocalist Bamboo Maalac, while on tour in Australia at a young age. Garcia also performed at the Filipino Fiesta in September 2014, singing “Break Free” by Zedd and Ariana Grande, which she recorded and uploaded to her YouTube account. She’s also competed in several singing competitions, winning two of them: the Urban Star Sydney Championship in December 2014, for which she earned the “Most Promising Talent” title, and the Fast Track Australian Singing Competition in March 2015, in which she competed in the junior class. Garcia also placed third in the National Urban Star Competition, winning the Judges’ Choice prizes for “Coolest Artist” and “Artist with the ‘Wow’ Factor” in the “Coolest Artist” and “Artist with the ‘Wow’ Factor” categories.

Garcia auditioned for the first portion of ABS-reality CBN’s television series Pinoy Big Brother’s second special season in 2015, and she passed after showing her singing, acting, and dancing skills, as well as her “confidence and frank statements.” On the second day, she joined the house with Franco Rodriguez, who was ultimately named second runner-up, Kyle Secades, and Zonia Mejia. Garcia composed and recorded two songs during her time in the house: “Win the Fight” (2015), which she wrote and recorded with her fellow housemate Jimboy Martin; and “Magmahal Muli” (2005, lit. To Love Again), which she recorded with her fellow housemate Bailey May; both songs were originally written and recorded by Sam Milby and Say Alonzo during the first season of Pinoy Big Brother (2005). The tracks were later included on the PBB 737 (2015) extended play, which was released on Spotify on August 9, 2015. She was chosen as one of the four finalists after receiving 19.84 percent of the public vote and fled the Big Brother house on the fifty-first day, allowing the second part of the special season to begin.

Garcia and her fellow finalists Jimboy Martin, Bailey May, and Rodriguez were told to return to the Big Brother house during an episode of ABS-noontime CBN’s variety show It’s Showtime! (2009). Garcia was cast in Pinoy Big Brother’s romantic comedy film Trending: Love (2015, stylized as TRENDING: LOVE) and participated in the final weekly task, “Short Film Festival,” with her fellow finalists and the five remaining housemates of the second special season. She was also cast in the romantic comedy film Trending: Love (2015, stylized as TRENDING: LOVE), where she played the fictional character Sophie Mendoza.

Garcia joined her former Pinoy Big Brother: 737 housemates and finalists from the first portion of the second special season, as well as other teenage actors and musicians Sharlene San Pedro and Gimme 5, at the Teen Power: The Kabataang Pinoy Concert Party on August 14, 2015.  Garcia received 42.24 percent of the public vote during the Big Night ceremony at the Albay Astrodome in Legazpi, Albay on November 8, 2015, and was named the first runner-up to Martin.

In the same month, she and May were cast as Audrey Olivar and Harry Fausto, respectively, in ABS-romantic CBN’s comedy television series On the Wings of Love (2015–16), where they played fictional characters, Audrey Olivar and Harry Fausto. Garcia was picked as Star Music’s representative for their “#SpotifySpotlight” segment in 2016 towards the end of 2015. On the musical variety show ASAP in 2016, Ylona said that her debut studio album would be released “very, very, very, very soon.”  Ylona joined Bailey May, James Reid, Nadine Lustre, Maine Mendoza, Alden Richards, Liza Soberano, Enrique Gil, Janella Salvador, and Enchong Dee as ambassadors for Coca-“Taste Cola’s the Feeling” campaign on January 21, 2016. On January 31, 2016, the music television network Myx announced Ylona as the “Celebrity VJ” for the month o February. Star Music signed Ylona on February 4, 2016. She eventually indicated that her impending debut studio album would be released soon, implying that it might be released between early and mid-2016. Garcia joined the adolescent pop group ASAP G! in 2018 as a member. Isabela Vinzon, Jayda Avanzado, Kyle Echarri, Jeremy Glinoga, and Darren Espanto are among the group’s other members. The group was created on June 3rd, 2018, and disbanded in November when the program was renamed ASAP Natin’To.

Ylona Garcia’s music video for her track “Walk In My Timbs,” which includes R&B musician Jay-R, was released on May 3, 2020. On May 8, the song made its formal debut on the Philippine morning show Umagang Kay Ganda. Jay-R explained that Ylona wrote the song herself, praising her incredible writing abilities at such a young age, which inspires him and allows him to learn a lot from her.

On February 24, 88rising, an American-Asian worldwide record label, tweeted a mystery photo of Garcia with the phrase “sooner than you think.” Garcia will be managed by “Paradise Rising,” a company under 88rising and Globe Telecom that specializes in Filipino musicians, and was officially announced by the label on February 27.

Garcia stated on her official social media platforms on March 1 that she is preparing for her next return, announcing the single’s title “All That” and releasing a video teaser for the song. The official music video for Garcia’s single “All That” was released on March 3 via Paradise Rising. The song was well-received, with over one million views on YouTube in just four days.

Garcia was reported to be making her next comeback with a brand new track “Don’t Go Changing” for the Head in the Clouds album, according to an announcement made by 88rising on August 26.  Garcia has confirmed that he will perform the song at the Head in the Clouds Festival in November. Garcia lit up the Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena, California on November 7 with a 20-minute performance as part of the Head in the Clouds Music Festival 2021 stage.

Garcia launched her new single “Entertain Me” in January 2022, in collaboration with the tactical shooter game VALORANT. Her song was featured in the Agent, Neon, trailer for the game. “Spark – “Neon Agent Trailer / VALORANT” is the title of the video.
