Still, there are some characters that we really wish had real-life counterparts because the world would be so much cooler and livable with them. After being held captive by them, he is later rescued by allied forces and raised as a normal boy by Professor Trevor Bruttenholm. His suffering at the hands of the Nazi’s leads him to join forces with the American Bureau formerly Paranormal Research and Defense.

As a sworn defender of the good side, Hellboy is one of the kindest and bravest souls in comic book history. Although he eventually grows to look like a red demon with horns and hooves for feet, Hellboy never loses his biting humor or his love for mankind, plus he has the ability to reach parts of the world that humans don’t even know to exist. If this comic book character was actually real, imagine how much knowledge he could reveal about the universe.

9. Batgirl/Oracle (Barbara Gordon)

What’s better than two crime-fighting, ass-kicking, extremely intelligent batlike humans? Two, especially when one of them is a woman. Like Batman, this comic book character does not possess any supernatural powers but she is a weapons specialist and skilled fighter with a brilliant mind. Even when she hangs up her boots and is eventually tracked down and paralyzed with a bullet by The Joker, she doesn’t let this keep her down for too long. Barbara Gordon begins using her photographic memory and knowledge to transform into Oracle, one of the most intelligent beings in the DC superhero canon.

When Deadpool was first introduced, people considered him to be a ripoff of Spider-Man and Deathstroke, and no one really expected that his series will go very far. Today, he is one of the most popular comic book characters around. He has a complicated and bitter history that has left him swinging back and forth between a straight-up mercenary and a side character who is just looking to have fun.

Over the years, Deadpool has teamed up with characters like Wolverine, Cable, Spider-Man, and pretty much every being that the Marvel Universe has to offer. When he’s not busy battling with school drama, work-life, messy romances, and other vicissitudes of daily life, he spends his time singing webs from tall buildings and saving the city from those who wish to do it harm.

Marvel’s response to DC’s Wonder Woman is one of the coolest heroes ever. Storm is an Omega-level mutant with the ability to control the weather in its every form. She has been a member of the Fantastic Four, Avengers, X-Men, and even served as the Queen of Wakanda when she was briefly married to Black Panther. She is definitely one character you want fighting on your side when things go awry. Imagine having a real-life friend who could control the weather, we would have summers that go on forever if nothing else.

He is the last son of Krypton, sent to earth to save him from being destroyed along with his planet. He is then discovered by a kind farmer in Kansas, who takes him home and brings him up as part of the family.

They are good people who raise him to be a good person, so when his powers start to show up he chooses to use it to fight crime and defend humanity from all threats no matter how dangerous. With his godlike powers, Superman becomes a symbol of hope, goodness, and justice in America. He believes the world can be a better place and he strives to make it one. The real world could definitely use a Superman, now more than ever.

4. Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers)

Carol Danvers is one comic book character that has a very complex and difficult history. Since she was first introduced in the 60s, she has evolved over and over to take a place as one of the most powerful superheroes in the Marvel Universe. She started out as a badass fighter pilot who struggled with gender stereotypes to rise through the ranks as a CIA agent, USAF officer, and NASA’s head of security.

She developed incredible superpowers after Kree DNA fused with hers, so she took on the moniker Miss Marvel and set out on a path of heroism. After many triumphs and tragedies, she changes her name to Captain Marvel and joins the Avengers. If you’ve seen the newly released Captain Marvel movie, then you know just how useful the comic book character would be if she was real. If you haven’t, you need to fix up.

3. Black Panther (T’Challa)

Imagine a world where a nation in Africa was the most technologically advanced and peaceful in the world, and it was ruled by an extremely powerful king who is at once a superhero, diplomat, tech genius, statesman, and warrior. Wouldn’t that be an absolutely fantastic world to live in?

Often referred to as Marvel’s Batman, Black Panther has an infinite amount of financial resources at his disposal, is well trained in martial arts, and can track down anyone on the face of the earth. This comic book character is not only superhuman, but he is also culturally important because he helps to subvert racial stereotypes by promoting a world in which power is not structured around white institutions.

2. Wonder Woman (Diane)

Wonder Woman is one of the most popular female comic book characters and she is considered one of the strongest superheroes ever created. Depending on the version of the comics you get your hands on, her origin story involves her mother crafting her out of clay, which she then presents to the gods to breathe life into. Another version depicts Wonder Woman as the child of Zeus and the queen of the Amazons, Hippolyta. Either way, she gets her phenomenal abilities through her divine origins. She is believed to be even more powerful than Superman and the Martian Manhunter, the two strongest members of the Justice League.

His origin story is pretty straightforward: Bruce Wayne’s parents were killed, leaving their young son as the sole heir to a vast fortune. Growing up, Bruce is tormented by his inability to prevent the death of his parents, so he devotes himself to fighting crime and ridding the world of evil.

With the incredible wealth at his disposal, becoming the caped crusader comes fairly easy to him. He can afford all kinds of cool gadgets including the Batmobile. Batman is considered one of the most intelligent beings in the world. Given enough time to plan, there is no friend or foe that he cannot defeat. On top of all that, he is also a skilled fighter, one of the best in the world. What makes this comic book character so special and achingly real is because he reminds us that there is good in the world even when it’s shrouded in darkness.
