The movie star was born as Andrew James Matfin Bell on the 14th day of March 1986. Jamie was born to British parents Eileen and her then-husband John Bell in the Billingham City of England. As a child, Jamie didn’t see much of his father who left home shortly before he was born. He was raised by his mother along with his older sister Kathryn.

While he was growing up, Jamie often attended ballet classes with his sister and this led him to develop a keen interest in the entertainment biz. He completed his basic education at the Northfield School & Sports College. In addition to that, Jamie also took acting classes at the Stagecoach Theatre Arts School situated in the UK before starting his acting career.

Career

At the early stages of his career, Jamie Bell played the role of a young age boy in Greg Brenman’s movie titled Billy Elliot in the year 2000. In the same year, he also appeared in the television film titled Close and True alongside Robson Green. Two years later, the young actor starred in Michael Bassett’s film titled Deathwatch as well as Douglas McGrath’s Nicholas Nickleby.

Finding his feet in the American movie industry, Jamie played prominent roles in movies such as Dear Wendy, King Kong, Jumper The Scumscrubber, Jumper, and Flags of Our Fathers, among others. In 2011, the actor appeared in four films – ‘s film titled The Adventures of Tintin as well as Retreat, Jane Eyre, and The Eagle. He portrayed the role of Edgar alongside in the 2013 science fiction movie titled Snowpiercer.
