Tech Youtube lovers will surely be conversant with the FPSRussia channel owned by YouTuber Kylie Myers. Myers came up with the peculiar content of flashing firearms and weapons which he uses in bringing down all kinds of inanimate targets including zombies, fruits, bottles and even photos of celebrities. On his channel, Myers plays the character of Dmitri Potapoff, an English speaking Russian with a strong accent who showcases the weapons, explains and demonstrates their abilities with the targets.
FPSRusia became one of YouTube’s largest channel with more than 3 million subscribers and over 500 million viewers in 2013. This figure rapidly increased subsequently, making Kylie Myers one of the richest YouTube stars around at the time. However, the channel gradually headed to a final destination in 2016 when Kylie Myers stopped producing new episodes.
So many circumstances culminated in this development and all revolved around the personal life of FPSRussia originator – Kylie Myers. To dwell on this developments would mean to answer some of the pertinent questions circulating various media platforms. Starting with the frequently asked:
What Happened to FPSRussia?
After the channel gained strong publicity on the net, fans and the entire public started to address the channel and its creator with one name – FPSRussia. This means that FPSRussia is mostly used to refer to its owner, Myers. Now we’ve got that out of the way, Kylie Myers had started out on a small scale but was greatly elevated when he got support from Keith Richard Ratliff; a friend and business associate who provided him with most of the equipment he needed. Ratliff owned a firearms repair facility in Georgia and helped him with licensing, as well as the procurement of various arms.
FPSRussia was birthed in April 2010 and soon gained 1 million subscribers the following year. By 2017 it had over six million subscribers and over 700 million views. The channel also spawned another, ‘MoreFPSRussia’ which was also independently afloat.
However, FPSRussia headed to the evening of its days in the early parts of 2013 following the death of Kylie’s famous associate Keith Ratliff who was found dead in his office in Carnesville Georgia. It was a murder scene as he had three gunshot wounds to the back of his head and no matches of the bullets were found in his office – the beginning of Kylie’s woes.
You guessed right, Kylie was the key suspect. His house and other establishments of his were raided by different armed forces including the FBI, ATF, GBI and many others in a bid to find leads to the murder. Moreso, due to his use of Tannerite explosive in his youtube videos, authorities also suspected him to be in possession of illegal explosives. It didn’t end there, the channel was brought to a temporal halt at the time but later resumed in 2016. Unfortunately, 2017 was the last time anything was heard about the channel.
Where is He Now? Is He Dead?
It is believed by many that following the raid on his home by the ATF who seized a greater part of his arms, his business was greatly affected. More so, he had lost the only person who helped him with the procurement and licensing of his arms, another reason why his business may have never remained the same.
The questions about whether Kylie was dead emerged as a result of the death of Ratliff. Many had thought that Kylie Myers was the actual dealer who was murdered. The FPSRussia founder is still alive and though he no longer makes new episodes, he is busy with some other projects. Myers is a host on ‘Painkiller Already’, a podcast which features discussions about happenings in the world and presents such talks with a comic twist. Myers co-founded the platform alongside other associates. It is not clear if he is still involved with his business of firearms tutorials.
His Net Worth
With a flourishing and blossoming YouTube channel, Kylie Myers was among the richest YouTube stars between 2011 and 2013. With a loan of $100,000, Myers converted his father’s farmhouse in Georgia to his famous testing stage for his videos. He has surely reaped the fruits of this seed he sowed in good faith and would have stayed afloat but for the death of his friend and associate.
After the channel closed down, he found solace in other productions like Painkiller Already where he reportedly makes up to $6,000 per month. He also makes a lot of money via his YouTube videos which are still very popular on the platform.
