Professional baseball player Rob Refsnyder was born on the 26th day of March 1991 in Seoul, South Korea but was soon given up in adoption five months later. The couple who had the pleasure of taking young Rob; Jane and Clint Refsnyder reside, in California but are of German and Irish descent respectively. With the Refsnyders, he had an idyllic childhood, getting his high school education at Laguna Hills High School where he joined the baseball team. He had always been a fan of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He also played basketball and was a wide back receiver and an outside linebacker for the school baseball team. At his graduation, he was named the offensive player of the year in football and co-most valuable player in baseball and as expected, colleges came calling.
For college, he chose the University of Arizona where he settled for baseball with the Arizona Wildcats. In his first year, he got the All-Pacific-10 Honorable Mention and by his junior year in the 2012 season, Rob batted .352 and was at the top of the team in a lead with 6 home runs, 63 runs batted in and 12 stolen bases. Following up his good form in the 2012 College World Series, he was named most outstanding player after his performance saw the Wildcats defeat the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Professional Career
Rob Refsnyder began his pro career with the New York Yankees who selected him as the 187th pick in the 2012 MBL draft as a second baseman. The contract saw him receive a signing bonus of $205,900. He saw his first action on July 10th with the Charleston Riverdogs, of the Class A South Atlantic league which is an affiliate of the Yankees. After putting up an excellent performance at Charleston in the 2013 season, having played 13 games, he was given a raise to the Tampa Yankees of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League where he played 117 games, batting .283 and hitting 6 home runs.
For the 2014 season, he moved again to the Trenton Thunder where the hitting coach Marcus Thomas taught him a new swing style that did not need too much movement and as such, reduces stress. This, in turn, saw a tremendous improvement in his power output and saw him win the Eastern League Player of the Week Award. His next round of games saw him proving defense at the second base and working his promotions at various levels until 2015 when he was given the chance to fight for a position and a raise to the major leagues. Taking up the challenge, Rob Refsnyder played 81 games for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, batting .290, scoring 7 home runs 17 doubles, and 37 RBIs which sure gave him a spot in the major leagues.
With his promotion to the major leagues, Rob Refsnyder became the fourth position player behind Hee-seop Choi, Shin-Soo Choo, and Jung-ho Kang to be born in South Korea. Between July and November of 2017, the rising player was traded twice; first to the Toronto Blue Jays in return for Ryan McBroom and then to the Cleveland Indians where he has remained.

Rob found love at the University of Arizona where he met his wife Monica in 2012 while they were still students in the institution. The lady is also sports-inclined; she is an All American Swimmer and is very good at it as she completed the 2008 and 2012 United States Olympic trials.
Rob and Monica had a long courtship after which he proposed to her when he visited her family on a Thanksgiving vacation to Riviera Maya Mexico. The duo tied the knot in December 2015 in Chicago since Monica grew up in Illinois. They had one of the most classic weddings which his very happy wife described as her dream wedding.
