Jeanine Ferris Pirro is a Lebanese-American TV personality, legal analyst, and author who is best known for being a former Judge, prosecutor and District Attorney for Westchester County, New York, America. She was born to her Lebanese parents Nasser and Esther Ferris, on June 2, 1951.
Jeanine is a graduate of Notre Dame High School and she attended the University at Buffalo where she graduated from with a Bachelors degree in Arts. To receive her Juris Doctor (JD) degree, Jeanine went to Albany Law School of Union University and there, she also worked as an editor of the law review.
Jeanine’s career in the law firm started in 1975, after her graduation from Albany Law School. To her credit and as a proof of her hard work Pirro got the position of the Assistant District Attorney of Westchester County with her sole duty being to write appeals and handle minor cases. Two years after, she was made the first chief of the Domestic Violence and Child Abuse Bureau. During her service year, she was known for her strict policy against dropping cases at a victim’s request. Jeanine also claimed not to have lost any case, but she received wide criticism mostly for violating her office traditions.
In 1991, Judge Jeanine Piro became the first female judge in the Westchester County Court and in 1993, she also became the first woman to be elected Westchester County District Attorney. Piro held on to that office until 2001 and was known as a passionate prosecutor. During her time of service, she held other notable positions like the first female president of the New York State District Attorneys Association and the chairperson of the New York State Commission on Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board.
On August 10, 2005, Jeanine Pirro announced her intention to seek the Republican nomination for the 2006 New York senatorial seat so she could challenge the first-term Democrat who was the incumbent senator. She, however, dropped out from the senatorial race on December 21, 2005.
Talking about her career as a media personality, Judge Jeanine Piro joined the Fox News Channel in 2006 and was the host of the popular TV court program Judge Jeanine Pirro, also known as Judge Pirro. While doing this, she also served as a guest-host for such TV programs as The Joy Behar Show, Larry King Live, and Geraldo at Large. Pirro is also is a Fox News legal analyst and she is a regular guest on Fox’s late-night satire show Red Eye w/ Greg Gutfeld. Her TV show Judge Pirro which premiered in January 2011, even earned her a Daytime Emmy Award.

In 1975, Jeanine married Alberto Pirro who happened to be her longtime boyfriend. Their union was blessed with two children- a son named Alexander Pirro and a daughter named Christi Pirro. Alberto and Jeanine met while in Law school but the former grew up in the city of Mount Vernon which is located in Westchester County, New York. A short while after their marriage, the Pirro family moved to the small city of Harrison, New York where Pirro was able to work as assistant district attorney and her husband worked as a lobbyist.
The two, however, separated after Albert was convicted of a federal tax fraud and conspiracy of more than $1 million. Albert was, in November 2000, sentenced to 29 months in prison. Being affected by her estranged husband’s case, coupled with the talks about his extra-marital affairs, Pirro then decided they separate. The two announced their separation in November 2007 and had their divorce finalized in 2013. Pirro is currently single, she lives and enjoys life with her two children.
