Jeannie Mai is a well known American actress, television personality, make-up artist and a veteran when it comes to matters relating to fashion. She has been the host and co-host of several television shows like Character Fantasy which she hosted in 2006 on USA Network and How Do I Look? on Style Network in 2004. Currently, she is a co-host on the Fox talk show The Real which debuted on the 15th of July 2013.

Jeannie Camtu Mai was born on the 4th of January, 1979 in San Jose, California, and is the eldest child of her parents. She grew up in California with two younger brothers named Daniel and Dennis. Growing up, she practised her home religion, Buddhism but later changed to the Christian faith.
She received her secondary education from Milpitas High School and later bagged a degree in Communication from De Anza College. Belonging to a large family made the rising star to start working early in life; by the time she was 16, Mai was already going for interviews and experimenting with makeup kits belonging to her mum who was a local celebrity.

At the age of 18, Mai landed her first job as a make-up artist with MAC Cosmetics while living in San Jose, California. She made gradual progress in her career until she was considered competent enough to work for celebrities. Later, MTV’s Total Request Live employed her as their celebrity makeup stylist and so did others including Good Day Sacramento and KCAL Los Angeles.
In 2003, after auditioning for several hosting gigs, she got a job, co-hosting Stir on the International Channel. After this, she was employed to host her own music countdown on the California Music Channel. Later, she landed the position of entertainment producer and reporter of The Daily Mixx on WB.
Her first primetime hosting job was in 2005 on Character Fantasy airing on the USA Network. When she eventually moved to Los Angeles, she began hosting segments relating to entertainment news and fashion on several networks like NBC, E!, Lifetime and TLC. TLC’s 10 Years Younger eventually offered her a place as part of their beauty squad.
2008 was a special year for Jeannie Mai, she not only hosted TLC’s Miss America Reality Check but also Where’s Your Style and the Makeover Special Dude. The same year, the cosmetics brand Never Accept Ordinary made Mai their spokesperson.
In 2009, the Style Network’s fashion makeover show, How Do I Look made her their host and during the weekends, she was on NBC’s Extra TV with , serving as a correspondent and the weekend host. She became the host of the Miss Universe pageant in 2011 and also worked with the NBC weight-loss competition, The Biggest Loser as a fashion consultant. Mai was among the guest judges on Asia’s Next Top Model first cycle in 2012.
From 2014 to date, Jeannie has hosted several shows which include Style Pop on the Style Network, The Real on FOX and Steampunk’d on GSN.
She has had several brand endorsements as well, some of which include Woolite, Macy’s Splenda, Colgate, Avon, Yoplait, Ford, The Limited, David’s Bridal, Microsoft and Biogen.

Ex-husband, Freddy Harteis & Divorce
The month of October 2017 was not a blissful one for Jeannie Mai and her husband, Freddy Harteis. Their decision to end their ten-year-old marriage was made public and the reason cited in the divorce papers was irreconcilable differences on the issue of having kids.
Jeannie had always been opposed to having children and she made it clear right from the onset of their relationship, even before marriage. However, as Freddy grew older, he had a change of heart. In other words, divorce was inevitable.
