Denise Richards was born on the 17th day of February 1971 in Downers Grove, Illinois to father Irv Richards who worked as a telephone engineer and mother Joni Richards who managed a chain of coffee shops called Jitters. The actress was brought up in Mokena and Downers Grove along with her sibling Michelle Richards. She has a mixed ancestry of Dutch, English, French-Canadian, German, Irish and Welsh and her sexual orientation is bisexual.

Her educational background can be traced to Herrick Junior High School in Illinois where she completed eighth grade, she passed through Downers Grove North High School in Illinois for her freshman year and graduated from El Camino High School in Oceanside, California in 1989.

Denise worked as a model after graduating from high school and embarked on a lot of traveling to big cities like Tokyo, Paris, and New York for commercials and photo shoots. She has made appearances in films and TV series such as Married with Children, Saved By the Bell, Friends and Melrose Place, but her big break came when she bagged the starring role in the film Starship Troopers directed by Paul Verhoeven in 1997 and since then, she has played 80 different roles as an actress.

The actress filed for divorce from her husband while she was pregnant with their second child in March 2005, but the divorce became final on the 30th of November 2006, with Denise winning custody and Charlie being ordered to stay at least 300 feet away from Denise and the kids, with the exception of a supervised visit.

The animal-loving actress included her two kids as part of her confessional reality program on E!, Denise Richards: It’s Complicated which made its debut on the 26th day of May 2008, but Charlie contested his daughters’ inclusion in the show. He condemned Denise’s actions as being vain, greedy and exploitative but Denise won the court case against her ex-husband and included the girls in the show. It happened that Denise finally got complete custody of her daughters in May 2011. Charlie willingly handed them over and signed a written agreement to that effect. This was due to the fact that Charlie was having marital problems with his third wife Brooke Mueller in addition to having criminal problems and sobriety issues.

It appears that the celebrity actress loves having many kids around her because, in 2011, she added another daughter named Eloise Joni Richards (born May 24, 2011) to her kids through adoption. Denise Richards adopted Eloise at birth in the US after satisfying the two-year wait adoption process. Eloise’s middle name Joni was the name of Denise’s late mother who died of cancer in 2007.

Even after their divorce, Denise and Charlie were still in good terms because Charlie always calls on her to take care of his twin sons with his third wife Brooke Mueller whenever Brooke has problems with drug addiction including when she was in rehab for addiction to Adderall. In May 2013, Charlie supported a move for Denise Richards to get temporary custody of his twin sons after the boys were rescued from his wife’s house by child protective services due to their concern over her use of hard drugs.
