Kristen Bell is an American actress, voice actor, singer, dancer and film producer. We know her as the pretty charming actress from TV series Veronica Mars and in such films as Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Couples Retreat, Get Him to the Greek and the 2016 comedy Bad Moms. She equally voiced the lead character “Anna” in Disney’s 2013 animated musical fantasy film Frozen.
Kristen Bell left the prestigious Tisch School of Arts at New York University in 2001, to make her Broadway debut as Becky Thatcher in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Since then, she has been in numerous TV shows and movies including When in Rome and the musical Burlesque.
Her breakout role came in 2004 when she landed the title character in the drama/mystery series Veronica Mars. In 2006, Bell won a Saturn Award from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films for Best Actress on Television for that role. The series also got nominated for five teen choice awards. After the series ended in 2007, Kristen Bell appeared in the box office hit Forgetting Sarah Marshall in 2008 followed by Couples Retreat in 2009.
A history-making opportunity came for Bell when she was chosen to host the 24th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in January 2018, making her the first ever emcee at the SAG awards. Being a mom of two Kristen Bell presently features on a web series on Ellen DeGeneres’ EllenTube where she gets to reveal some of the ugly realities that come with being a mother.
Bio, Age
Kristen Bell was born on July 18, 1980, in Huntington Woods, Michigan. Her mother, Lorelei (née Frygier), is a registered nurse, and her father, Tom Bell, is an actor and also works as news director for CBS Television in Sacramento.
Her mother has Polish ancestry while her father has (wait for it) English, German, Scottish and Irish ancestry. Bell sure has a unique cocktail of bloodlines in her.
Her parents divorced when she was just two and she was the only child they had. Soon after their divorce each of Bell’s parents remarried earning her 6 half siblings; 2 from her father’s second marriage and 4 from that of her mother.
She had her early education at Burton Elementary School in Huntington Woods, Michigan. For her high school education, Bell’s parents decided to pull her from the public school system. She attended Shrine Catholic High School in Royal Oak, Michigan where she got highly involved in drama.
Her first movie audition was for the 1992 animated musical Raggedy Ann and Andy and she won the role. By age 13, she was taking acting lessons and also got established with an agent. Bell also got cast in several newspaper ads and TV commercials within her locality.
When she graduated from high school, Bell moved to Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, where she majored in musical theatre. Before she could complete her degree, she left to take on a role in the Broadway production of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. The year after that, she landed a role in the Broadway production of The Crucible which also featured and Laura Linney.
Later that year, Bell moved to Los Angeles and landed several regular roles on television series. At age 24, she got the leading part in Veronica Mars, which skyrocketed her to Hollywood fame. She was the narrator on 6 seasons of Gossip Girl and finally appeared in the final episodes of the show. In January 2012, Bell got the lead role in the Showtime comedy series, House of Lies.
Bell voiced the main character, Princess Anna of Arendelle, in the 2013 Walt Disney animation Frozen, which won an Oscar for ‘best-animated feature’ at the 86th Academy Awards.
Her good looks had her voted “Best Looking Girl” by her senior class in 1998, the year of her high school graduation. Obviously, her senior class was right and the lovely screen diva has continued to maintain her looks. One of her most notable roles was starring as a 17-year old detective in Veronica Mars when she was actually 7 years older in reality.
Bell was voted PETA’s “World’s Sexiest Vegetarian” first in 2006 and then in 2013. The mom of two is currently 37 years old even though she doesn’t look a day over 20!
Kristen Bell’s Husband.
In 2007, Kristen Bell ended a five-year relationship with film producer Kevin Mann, who was her fiancé at the time. Much later that year, Bell found love again and began dating fellow actor , who is also from Detroit. They had met at the birthday party of a mutual friend.
Bell and Shepard announced their engagement in January 2010. Three years later, the couple tied the knot at the Beverly Hills County Clerk’s Office on October 17, 2013. Their wedding was an extremely small and private ceremony.
Bell and Shepard co-starred in the 2010 film When In Rome, the 2012 film Hit and Run and the 2017 film CHiPs. The couple has also featured in commercials for Samsung and Neutrogena.
They have two daughters: Lincoln Bell Shepard (born in 2013) and Delta Bell Shepard (born in 2014).
Children and Family
Kristen Bell had her first child at age 32, a daughter named Lincoln Bell Shepard on March 28, 2013. She was delivered of the baby through the use of the epidural after 15 hours of labour. Bell was actually 6 months gone with her first child while filming House of Lies season 2. This was nicely concealed as a body double was used for most of the scenes in which her belly was shown.
She gave birth to her second child at age 34, a daughter Delta Bell Shepard on December 19, 2014. She had Delta via Caesarean section after a harrowing 33 hours of labour. She returned to work 3 months after the delivery to begin filming Veronica Mars.
The proud mum of two has never been shy about sharing intimate details about her family and her relationship with husband Dax Shephard. She recently recounted some of her motherhood experiences on a new web series on EllenTube.
According to her, she had suffered a bout of mastitis and at the time, she had no means of getting to a doctor. Bell literally had to nurse her husband Dax Shepard in order to get the affected milk ducts unblocked and get some relief. Owing to the fact that breast milk probably isn’t the tastiest drink in the world that selfless act endeared Dax Shephard to his very grateful wife.
Height, Feet
Kristen Bell is 5ft 1″ in height. She has blue-coloured eyes and her blonde hair is probably her signature feature. The petite actress weighs 106 lbs. Her dress size is 4 (US) while her shoe size is 6 (US).
Kristen Bell’s Net Worth
Kristen Bell is currently worth about $20 million. Frozen, in which Bell voiced the lead character of Anna, is the highest-grossing animated movie ever made. The movie has earned $1.3 billion to date – which has certainly contributed to Bell’s impressive net worth.
Bell also performed some of the top-recorded songs in the movie which include Do You Want to Build a Snowman, For the First Time in Forever, Love is an Open Door and For the First Time in Forever (Reprise). A sequel to the highly successful animated musical is currently in the works and therefore Bell’s impressive net worth can be expected to increase in the near future.
One of Kristen Bell’s priced luxury assets is a 4,050-square-feet home in Los Feliz which she acquired with husband Dax Shepard for $4.3 million. The home is located in an exclusive area in Loughlin Park and is the second largest in the neighbourhood.
