Followers of the VH1’s reality show, Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, will definitely be familiar with Karlie Redd. The television personality gained fame as a main cast member of the show when it premiered in 2012. Her appearance on it has further been nothing short of controversial, as an analysis done on the show’s fifth season revealed that she garnered 16% of all emotional reactions about the show on social media. These emotions were further proven to be largely negative.
One of the many reasons viewers may have reacted negatively and questioned her authenticity as a person is due to the controversy that surrounds her real age. Many people, including some of her ex-boyfriends who also happen to be cast members of the show, have said that she under reports her age. As the years have gone by, Redd herself has continued to put out different ages, leaving much confusion as to what her true age is.
Aside from her endeavors on reality television, Karlie Redd made strides as a model, hip-hop artist, and actress. She equally spread her tentacles into the business world as an entrepreneur.
What We Know About Karlie Redd’s Real Age
The daughter of an African-American father and a Trinidadian mother has been quite secretive about her real age over the past years. While it is public knowledge that she celebrates her birthday on the 15th of April each year, the year which she was born is not known.
Redd has gained lots of media attention for deciding to keep her real age in the dark, and for repeatedly giving out fake details about it when pressured. During her appearance on the reality show Scream Queens in the late 2000s, her age was listed as twenty-nine. A few years later when she debuted on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta in 2012, she stated that she was in her twenties. Her statement received backlash from many who disagreed and stated that she was way older than she claimed to be.
In 2015, when she was featured in a Playboy Plus spread, the figure changed again as she listed her age in the publication to be thirty-seven. Karlie Redd appears to have since come clean about how old she really is following an interview on the TV show, The Real in May 2019. She stated that she was forty-five years of age then, which makes her birth year 1974.

Despite being in the spotlight for more than a few years, Karlie Redd has been meticulous with what she shares with the public. She successfully hid information concerning her daughter from the prying eyes of the media until a court document surfaced, citing that she has an adult daughter who goes by the name of Jasmine Lewis.
Just as she did with her age, Redd refuted the news but later went on to accept that she has a daughter that goes by that name. In 2015, when her daughter made an appearance in one episode of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, the young lady revealed that she was a college undergraduate. She further revealed that she wanted to drop out in order to pursue a different career but her mother convinced her against doing it.
Karlie Redd welcomed Jasmine to the world with her ex-boyfriend Nate Hill. While details of their love affair are not pubic knowledge, it is known that her former beau was a drug dealer who is currently serving life imprisonment.
Besides Nate, Karlie has dated a good number of guys, some of who have also featured in the Love & Hip Hop reality show. From 2014 to 2015, she had an on-again-off-again relationship with rapper Yung Joc. Later on, she dated the likes of Benzino, Lyfe Jennings, and Ceasar Emanuel before getting engaged to a businessman named Maurice “Mo” Fayne.
On the 18th of July 2018, Maurice proposed to Karlie in Atlanta during the release party for her single ‘Ferrari Karlie’ with a nine-carat diamond ring said to be worth about $150,000. The pair remained engaged for several months before Maurice called it off in May 2019 when an Instagram video showing his fiance flirting with rap artist Money Bagg Yo was brought to his attention.
