Fans of American spy, action, adventure, and martial arts action films won’t have a hard time recollecting the real-life face of Chuck Norris, the action film superstar who played Colt in Way of the Dragon, Major John T. Booker in Good Guys Wear Black, and J.J. McQuade in Lone Wolf McQuade, despite how old he is now. From the 70s, the 80s, through the 90s, Carlos Ray Norris who we all readily refer to as Chuck Norris was the face of action films where the lead character obviously had to play larger than life roles. His portrayal of these characters was so natural to him that he was a delight to watch anytime, anyday.
Norris began his acting career in the year 1968 and for the next 4 decades, he entertained us, playing various roles on screen. Unknown to many people, the actor actually had a military background during which he pursued a military career for a few years. In addition to this, Chuck is also a trained martial artist. Thus, most of what we saw him do in movies were not entirely stunts. Moreso, he has set up his own fighting school known as Chun Kuk Do where he trains fighters based on his Norris’ Tang Soo Do fighting style which is a mix of various fighting styles perfected and blended into one to be more effective.
Seeing all that Chuck has been able to achieve during his career as an actor, and even after he retired from taking up roles in films, people have often wondered how old Chuck Norris is, how much he has amassed from his acting roles and the adverts he features in these days. We presented all the answers to these questions and more below.
How Old is Chuck Norris?
Chuck Norris was born many years ago precisely on the 10th of March 1940 in Navasota, Texas, to Wilma (née Scarberry) and Ray Norris. He was raised alongside his brothers Wieland and Aaron by their mother after she divorced their father when Chuck was about 16 years old. Sadly, Weiland was killed in Vietnam in 1970 while Aaron went on to become a Hollywood producer and is doing well for himself.
Having been born in the 40s, Chuck as of this writing is almost an octogenarian. Considering how old Chuck Norris is, it is understandable to see why he has stepped back from portraying roles in action films which in his prime was his forte. Be that as it may, we won’t be quick to forget that he once delighted us on screen in films like Way of the Dragon, Breaker! Breaker!, Missing in Action, Missing in Action 2: The Beginning, Code of Silence, Delta Force 2: The Colombian Connection, Top Dog, Hellbound, The Expendables 2 and many others. On television, Chuck was also not left out as he acted in a couple of series like Room 222, Karate Kommandos, Walker, Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire and others.
What Does He Do Now?
Since he took the back seat from portraying characters in films and television series, Chuck Norris has not been entirely idle. He is very far from it. He runs a fighting school named Chun Kuk Do where he trains his students in his Norris’ Tang Soo Do fighting style. They are also guided by 10 codes of honor which were all drafted from Norris’ personal code. In the fighting sport, he is a black belt holder in Judo, Tang Soo Do and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
In addition to his fighting school, Chuck Norris has equally leveraged on the good public image he built up over the years to land various advertising gigs in promotion of one product, services or the other. Some of them include his 2010 advert for T-Mobile in the Czech Republic, 2017 advert for United Healthcare, 2018 adverts for Hesburger (a Finnish hamburger), Cerveza Poker and Japanese car manufacturer, Toyota. All these have contributed in no small to increase his net worth even though his acting days are over.
How Much is Chuck Norris Worth?
Chuck Norris is one of those whose acting career in no small way contributed to shaping the film industry the way it has grown to be over the years. He gave life to various heroic characters in several action or adventure films and we couldn’t imagine who could have done it better.
