Lori Klausutis was an intern who was found dead in the office of the Joe Scarborough, a one-time U.S Congressman in Florida who served from 1995-2001. Her death raised a number of unanswered questions in the heart of many. Klausutis was found dead on July 19, 2001, in Scarborough’s office, slumped over by a desk. According to the Northwest Florida Daily News, a couple discovered the 28-year-old’s body as they arrived at the office for an appointment around 8 a.m. Since the news of her demise, many have been searching for more information about Lori Klausutis’ to learn more about who she is.

Lori Klausutis – Biography
Lori Klausutis was from Atlanta, Georgia in the United States, and was born on August 2, 1972. She was the daughter of Larry and Linda Bolterstein, a sibling to Kelly Ann, and wife of Timothy Klausutis from 1997-2001. Her early life and educational background are yet unknown. However, friends and family spoke well of her. She was said to be a dedicated and devoted Catholic member.
When and How She Died?
Death – as is widely said – is inevitable and Lori’s own happened to be on July 19, 2001. The autopsy carried out by the medical examiner – Micheal Berkland – showed that there was no sign of suicide or homicide. According to the examiner’s report, undiagnosed heart condition contributed to the death of Lori. The immediate cause of death was ruled as an acute subdural hematoma, or blood clot, that resulted from a close head trauma sustained in a fall. Berkland wrote in his report that the manner of death was an accident, she was near unconsciousness as she was falling because she did nothing to protect herself. She hit a desk with the side of her head.
As at the time of her death, her employer, Joe Scarborough, was at home but released a statement after he heard a staffer of his had died. In his statement, he expressed how saddened his family and staff are about the sudden departure of Lori Klausutis and how she would be missed by thousands of citizens that frequent his office.
There are still some controversies surrounding the death of Lori Klausutis. Some are of the view that there is more to the death of Lori, especially as it involves Joe Scarborough who resigned two months after Lori’s death.
On November 29, 2017, Donald Trump posted a tweet calling out to the authority concerned to investigate what he tagged as “unsolved mystery” that took place in Florida. According to police, the “unsolved mystery” the president was demanding to be investigated was solved a long time ago. A police investigator in an interview told the Washington Post that authorities investigating her death left “no stone unturned.” However, the president brought life back into a conspiracy theory about Lori Klausutis’ death.

Lori was happily married to Timothy Klausutis for 5 years. Her departure was a big loss to him. Timothy was a Florida native who attended Georgia Institute of Technology and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was devastated by his wife’s death as he wrote on one of his social media handles that “being married to Lori” was an honor.
Lori was a devoted Catholic
According to family and friends, Lori was a core Catholic. She was so involved in church activities to the extent that she was called “Little Miss Mary Sunshine”. Lori sang in her church’s choir and often volunteered as a cantor at a local Catholic congregation.
Micheal Berkland lost his license in two States
Micheal Berkland who was the medical examiner lost his license in two states for lying about autopsies (not Lori Klausutis’), adding to conspiracy theories about her death. Michael Berkland had lost his medical examiner license in both Missouri and Florida for lying about autopsies carried out by him. In accordance with the Northwest Florida Daily News, Berkland license was revoked in Missouri in 1996 for providing false information about an autopsy and in 1999 his ME license was suspended in Florida and subsequently withdrawn in 2003. Human body parts were also found in a storage unit belonging to Berkland in the year 2012.
Lori Klausutis wasn’t found until the next day
According to the medical examiner, Lori Klausutis died on July 19 before the end of the workday. Her body, however, wasn’t found until July 20 at 8 a.m. when a couple came to Joe Scarborough’s office for an appointment scheduled that morning.
