When the Fox premiered Star, a musical drama television series centered around the life of three young singers, the title character, Star Davis was in her own right the star of the show. But for most viewers, the production was also the launch of a new star in Ryan Destiny. Not entirely new to the limelight, this was by far her biggest career project in a young career that promises much in the future. Besides her impressive acting skills, she also wowed viewers with her impressive vocals, which could be related to her huge musical family background.

Born on the 8th of January 1995 in Detroit, Michigan, Ryan Destiny is a budding actress and singer who has earned rave reviews for her performances in the Fox TV musical drama Star. A daughter of a ’90s R&B singer, it is fair to say she was always going to make her way into the limelight.
Her journey into showbiz started as a young 12 years old while in Junior High in her native Detroit. The group which was initially called New Limit comprised of Destiny, Jasmine Pore, and another young singer. New Limit, under the management of Ryan’s mom, Dawn Irons, got into the auditions for America’s Got Talent in 2011 and made it to the third round.
New Limit as then constituted, split with Destiny and Pore linking up with former America’s Got Talent contestant Chelsea Stone to form a new group which was initially called “We are Dollhouse” a name that later morphed into Love Dollhouse.
Love Dollhouse was signed by ’ All Def label and went on to produce the hit song “Can I.” The group was disbanded and Destiny went on to sign with Capitol Records. In 2016, she announced that plans were underway for her solo Extended Play.
Ryan Destiny’s journey into acting started in 2010 when she was cast in an episode of The Wannabes Starring Savvy. After this successful outing, she moved to LA with her mom in search of more acting gigs. In 2013, she landed a role in the series Low Winter Sun. In 2015, she got her first lead role in a film, A Girl Like Grace, the story was about a poor Haitian‐American girl living in a Mississippi trailer park and mourning her best friend’s suicide.
Her performance in A Girl Like Grace further enhanced her burgeoning reputation. In June 2015, the film was premiered at Los Angeles Film Festival. The performance that has had the biggest impact on her young career has been her performance in Star, an American TV series created by Tom Donaghy and Lee Daniels for Fox. The story is built around the journey of three young girls in a quest to become stars singers. The three girls were played by Jude Demorest, Brittany O’Grady, and Ryan Destiny.
