Alexa Vega is that child star from the spy adventure comedy film series, Spy Kids, who thrilled us with not only her perfect portrayal of Carmen Cortez but also with her stunts and adventurous spirit. Alexa Ellesse Vega was born to her Colombian father, Baruch Vega, a fashion photographer and American mother, Gina Rue, a former model on August 27, 1998, in Florida and lived on a ranch until she moved with her family to California when she was four. She has six siblings including half-sisters Greylin James and Margaux Vega, and half-brother Jet James as well as actresses and Krizia Vega.
As a child, she was very athletic and took part in several sports like cross country running and water polo. She also took dancing lessons and is an experienced gymnast as well. Probably due to the myriad of activities, she was engaged in and her blossoming career, Vega didn’t attend a regular school but was homeschooled as a teenager.
Her journey into the world of portrayals took off at the age of 5 when her mother discovered her daughter was born with an uncanny talent to perform.
