Aljamain Sterling’s Bio

Aljamain Antoine Sterling was born on the 31st of July 1989 in Cortland, New York. He was raised in Roosevelt but later relocated to Uniondale in his 6th grade and attended Uniondale High School. Sterling had fought as a wrestler since his time at Cortland. He didn’t grow up so rich and had to work menial jobs to afford some basic needs. He worked as a shoe salesman at Saks Fifth before getting fired for calling to cancel work due to a school emergency. He then worked as a barber in school.

In addition to combat sports, Aljamain was also interested in basketball. He tried out for his high school basketball team in Uniondale High but didn’t make the cut. Sterling then channelled his energy towards perfecting his skills in wrestling. After high school, he proceeded to the State University of New York, Morrisville where he studied accounting and continued wrestling. There, he met Jon Jones who introduced him to mixed martial arts as they trained together. Sterling then transferred to SUNY-Cortland where he became a 2x All-American wrestler at 133 lbs and 141 lbs. He graduated with a degree in physical education.

Inspired by his success as an amateur wrestler, Sterling decided to go pro in 2011. He fought in the Ring of Combat Organization where he won his first professional title before joining the Cage Fury Fighting Championships. In no time, Sterling won CFFC Bantamweight Championship and went on to defend the title thrice. His success caught the attention of ‘s UFC and he got signed in 2014.

Sterling has two younger sisters (twins) and a younger brother Troy Sterling who is also a wrestler.

Aljamain has been dating a certain mystery lady for a long while and we are able to gather that her name is Rebecca Cruise. It is not certain when they started dating but they have been together since not later than 2015 when their relationship made the news after reports surfaced that undefeated pro boxer tried to steal Becca from Sterling.

Though details of the incident surfaced online in July 2015, it occurred in May 2015, a day after the UFC 187 took place in Las Vegas, Mayweather’s town.

A pool party was held where many of the UFC fighters gathered to reminisce about the event. Sterling was at the bar chilling with his girlfriend Becca and his teammate when the leader of the money team made a grandiose entrance with an entourage of about 30.

Money didn’t back down so quickly as he sent his bodyguard over to talk to Sterling to come down with her but Sterling remained adamant. He sent yet another member of his entourage, this time a lady but Sterling only got irritated by Mayweather’s advances. In the end, Mayweather left a loser.

Miss Cruise has been Sterling’s ride or die since then and judging by her looks, it is apparent to see why Mayweather immediately had an interest in her. Sterling occasionally posts about his girl on his social media pages, documenting dates and vacation to exotic beaches but he never gives too much information away about the identity of his girl.
