Jared Padalecki’s Wife

Jared got himself an actress lady and it’s actually not a shocker. It’s not uncommon for celebrities to marry and breed among themselves. Supernatural has been on air since 2005 and with all that activity (supernatural and natural), it may not have been that easy to meet ladies. So it’s no surprise that out very own Sam Winchester, married a co star.

Her name is Genevieve Nicole Cortese, also known as Genevieve Padalecki, and she had a recurring role in Supernatural as the demon Ruby. That was probably the beginning of her journey down the road to be Jared Padalecki’s wife. Don’t be mistaken, when it comes to titles and roles, she is more than just Jared Padalecki’s wife.

She has a couple of feathers in her hat, by her own right. She is more popularly known for her recurring role as Kris Furillo on the television series Wildfire, in which she shared a special bond with Wildfire, a horse she saved from going to slaughter and helped turn into a champion racehorse.

Anyway, back to the love story that has been brewing. The two met on the set of Supernatural, during it’s fourth season running. One thing led to another and the two started dating, but it wasn’t until 2009, that Jared decided to take their relationship to the next level.

Padalecki proved to be very romantic when he finally popped the question. According to Heavy, he proposed to Cortese in front of their favorite painting at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art in October 2009. The couple officially announced their engagement in January 2010.

So on February 27, 2010 in Genevieve’s hometown, which is Sun Valley, Idaho, they tied the knot and 7 years down the line, they seem to be doing pretty well. Of course, Supernatural co-star Jensen Ackles was a groomsman.

The star has two children, both boys, with his wife Genevieve. First they had Thomas Colton Padalecki on Monday, 19 March 2012. Their adorable four year old looks as happy as ever. When they first announced that they were expecting their first child, the Padalecki’s decided to do something very interesting.

They decided to have a little fundraiser, so they asked fans to donate to the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Here is what the star tweeted out to his fans, ‘ Lets make the world a brighter place for those not as fortunate.’ He also announced on the 4th of March that his wife and him would be matching every dollar raised till their bundle of joy arrived.

The fans raised over $40,000 in cash for the hospital and stayed true to their word as they matched it. Next, on 22 December 2013, the couple welcomed their second child, Austin Shepherd Padalecki. Both brothers have a Facebook fan club and they are the cutest mini- celebrities out there.

Here’s some additional good news for the Padalecki family, the trio is about to become a quartet. Yes, there’s another baby on the way. The Supernatural star revealed the good news on Live! With Kelly. This is what he said, ‘ When I started the show [Supernatural] I was 22 years old, I was a single guy, kind of doing my thing, now I’m 12 years older, I’m a father of two now, about to be a father of three in March.’

Jared has always known that he wanted to settle down and raise a family in Austin, Texas. He did just that in 2012, when he relocated with his wife, Genevieve Cortese Padalecki to a 10,600-square ft. Texas lodge. First things first, the couple decided to make the house a kid- friendly environment.

Obviously this does not mean that they live in a playhouse, but the couple tried to go for a refined yet comfortable look. So for the general design of the house, they went for a country theme and incorporated a lot of big couches to make the house more comfortable and laid back.

Some people love an abstract piece of art of a self portrait hanging on a wall or two. The Padaleckis took a more sentimental approach on that front. The couple has framed copies of their son’s footprints hanging on their walls among other notable memorabilia.

Jared admitted that his favorite part of his house is man cave, which is actually his home office. Everyone loves to be in his or her own space once in a while. He shared with People that it is his first stop when he comes home, and it is also where he enjoys alone time with a little bourbon and his guitar as he relishes his temporary freedom from his “worldly responsibilities.”
