Ashleigh Aston Moore was an American child actress who began her career in the year 1992. By 1995, she got a lot more famous as Chrissy DeWitt when she starred in the coming of age film Now and Then, alongside Gaby Hoffmann, , and . Sadly, two years later, not only did her career end, but her life also ended in an unfortunate circumstance which broke the heart of many people. The late actress was born on the 30th day of September in the year 1981, in Sunnyvale, California, the United States of America into a White American family. From an early age, Ashleigh began showing her affinity for acting and thus, this went on to shape the rest of her life as she began pursuing a career as an actress from a tender age.

Ashleigh Aston Moore got started with making appearances in various commercials as a 4-year-old. When she was about 11 years old, she landed her first major acting role in the television series titled The Odyssey. She played the characters of Alpha and Donna Archipenko in 37 episodes of the series which ran from 1992 to 1994. In the course of starring in the series, she was seen on other film works like Liar, Liar, and Family of Strangers, both in 1993 where she acted as Jean “Nini” Farrow and Megan respectively. Ashleigh Aston’s role in the later got her a 1994 Gemini Award nomination in the category of Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role.

She added more works to her list of acting credits with roles in Sin & Redemption (1994) where she played the character of Sally Simms. In this same year, we also saw Ashleigh Aston Moore as Traci in Beyond Obsession and as Marnie Langston in Madison which ran till 1995. She then acted as Tori Spencer in Northern Exposure before she landed her big role in the comedy-drama film Now and Then.

The film is a coming of age one set in 1970 which had her play the child character of Christina “Chrissy” Dewitt whose adult character was played by Rita Wilson. Her other film credit in 1995 was Gold Diggers: The Secret of Bear Mountain in which she acted as Tracy Briggs. In this year also, her acting prowess was recognized as she earned the YTV Achievement Award.

Other acting credits include The Grave, where she played the character of Marlene, Strange Luck, where she acted as Heather Rehne in 1 episode, as well as A Friend’s Betrayal where she acted as Ella. All these films were in 1996. Her last recorded acting credit came in 1997 when she acted in Touched by an Angel as Abby Fontaine in 1 episode.

Ashleigh Aston Moore was born to Cynthia Moore and James Moore. As she was growing up, she was mostly raised by her mother as her father was hardly ever around. Her mother encouraged her a lot to pursue her acting dreams after she spotted that her daughter had a knack for acting. Thus, it is thanks to her that all Ashleigh was able to achieve in her career was actually made possible.

How Did She Die?

The actress quit her acting career and relocated to Canada where her extended family members lived. A couple of years later, she died on the 11th of December 2007, aged 26. While some reports have it that she died as a result of an accidental heroin overdose, others stated that her death was caused by pneumonia and bronchitis.
