Acknowledged for her evergreen looks, Bianca Lawson has been entertaining different audiences since the age of nine. She first appeared in a few Barbie and Revlon ads before joining the cast of Saved by the Bell: The New Class. Early Life And Rise To Fame

She was named Bianca Jasmine Lawson at the time she was born in the city of Los Angeles, California, on March 20, 1979. Born to accomplished thespians, Bianca Lawson had the opportunity to start early, honing her entertainment skills at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting but her high school education was done at a Catholic school known as Marymount High School, located in her hometown of Los Angeles. For college, she chose the University of Southern California where she majored in film and psychology.

While acquiring her academic qualifications, Bianca Lawson was already a TV star as she started acting when she was nine. However, her first major acting role came in 1993 in the television series Saved by the Bell: The New Class where she played the main role of Megan Jones in 39 episodes. From 1995 to 1997, she was in Sister, Sister and Goode Behavior. She wrapped up the 1990s with appearances in The Show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dawson’s Creek, The Temptations and the film Primary Colours.

In the early 2000s, Bianca Lawson saw major success in both film and television but some of her acclaimed works started from 2009 when she was cast in The Secret Life of the American Teenager and the world-class television series The Vampire Diaries, as Shawna and witch Emily Bennett respectively. Towards the end of 2009, she picked up the role of Maya St. Germain in the ABC Family series Pretty Little Liars and stayed on the show from June 2010 to August 2012 after which she started playing a recurring role in the MTV television series Teen Wolf as Ms. Morell. She has remained on the show to date.

In 2014, she played Eva in Witches of East End and appeared in the television special Pretty Little Liars: We Love You to DeAth as herself. She continued her television roles in 2015, on the set of Rogue (season three) as series regular Talia Freeman. She has been a cast member in the Network drama series, Queen Sugar since 2016.

Bianca Lawson was born to African-American parents – actress Denise Gordy and actor Richard Lawson. Her ancestry is a mix of Italian, Native American, Portuguese, and Creole. Apparently, her parents’ marriage didn’t last (1978–1989) and through her father’s second attempt at matrimony, she became a step-daughter of Tina Knowles. This makes her a step-sister to pop superstars and . Through her mother’s side of the family, Bianca Lawson is also the great-niece of Motown founder Berry Gordy.

Bianca Lawson seems to be treading the same path as her mother who has made several appearances in television films and series. Some of her works include Black Fist, Mahogany, Charlie’s Angels, At Ease, It’s a Living and Reform School Girls. She, however, seems to be taking things easy and has not been acting in a long while. Her father, on the other hand, has built an illustrious career in both movies and television.
