Bindi Irwin is the daughter of a popular wildlife expert but she is best known as an Australian Actress and TV personality. She is also a well-known singer and dancer who has so far, chosen to follow in the footsteps of her parents who both own a zoo.

Bindi was born on July 24, 1998, as the only daughter of Zoologists Terri and Steve Irwin who are both hosts of a popular nature program The Crocodile Hunter which ran for over eleven years. Australian by nationality with an English-Irish ethnicity, Bindi was raised alongside her only brother, Robert, in Buderim, Queensland. Bindi’s names were inspired by her parent’s favorite animals. For example, she was named Bindi by her father, after his favorite crocodile while her middle name Sue was given to her by her mother and is after the family’s favorite dog Sui which died of Cancer. Her father, however, stated that the name Bindi is an Australian word for “Young girl”.
Bindi was homeschooled and that is where she developed a strong passion for animals like her parents. At the age of two, the young Princess was already featuring in her father’s TV program. She was also actively involved in game show hosting, singing and songwriting. Little as she was, Bindi also appeared in the 2002 Australian children’s music group, The Wiggles: Wiggly Safari which was formed in Sydney, New South Wales.
