On the 4th of April, 1950, in Birmingham, Michigan, Elizabeth (nee Tabar) and Paul Theodore Lahti welcomed their daughter, Christine Ann Lahti, to the world. Her mother was a homemaker and nurse while her father was a surgeon. The pair, who had a total of six children, were Lutherans and also Finnish immigrants to the United States.

Details about Lahti’s childhood are not known as it is not clear what town she was raised in and where she received her early education. It is, however, known that she attended Florida State University and studied Fine Arts before going to the University of Michigan where she was in the Delta Gamma sorority and received her bachelor’s degree in Drama.
