Clive Owen is an English actor who has been in the screen business for as many years as most people can remember. He became famous in the 1990s for works such as Chancer and Close My Eyes. Apart from his professional life, the actor has also maintained a very interesting and enviable personal and marital relationship with his wife, Sarah-Jane Fenton. Here is all to know about him and his relationship.
Clive Owen Bio
Owen was born on October 3, 1964, in Keresley, Coventry to a father who was in the entertainment circle as a singer. Nonetheless, the actor was raised alongside his siblings by their mother and stepfather after their father, Jesse Owens walked out on the family when Clive was only three years old.
While growing up, acting was not in the mind of the man who would grow to be one of the best actors in England. But then, thanks to a good theatre school in Coventry where he was raised, he had the opportunity to learn the art and see that he loved it not for the fame or anything else.
After graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Clive Owen began working in the theatre before he landed his first movie role in 1988 when he starred in Vroom. By 1991, he was already fairly famous after he played the role of Richard in Close My Eyes. He would go on to feature in many movies with the latest being Last Knights (2015), The Confirmation (2016), and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017). In 2018, he worked on Ophelia, Anon, and Three Seconds.
Apart from the movies, he has also had a great television career so far. His debut was in 1987 when he appeared in Rockliffe’s Babies. This was followed by other works such as Chancer, Sharman, and The Knick which he also produced in 2015.
With a career that has run for many years, the actor has won many awards including the Critics Choice award for Gosford Park, New York Film Critics Circle award and British Academy Film award for Closer, Central Ohio Film Critics Association award for Inside Man and Children of Men, as well as the Satellite award for The Knick.
Wife (Sara-Jane Fenton)
Growing up in a broken home has probably made Clive understand the importance of having a very functional family. That is probably why the actor has been able to form a bond with his wife that is easy to admire and envy.
Clive Owen is married to Sarah-Jane Fenton with whom he has remained since 1995. Their story began in the 1990s when they met as Romeo and Juliet on stage, but instead of ending in a tragedy like the real play written by William Shakespeare, their story went for happy ever after. The play that brought them together was at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
In case you are wondering, Sarah-Jane Fenton is also an actress like her husband. She has taken a part in a number of productions for both the stage and screen. Her works include a 1988 mini TV series The One Game, The Tall Guy (1989), Virtual Murder (1992), and A Good Man in Africa (1994). She has not acted in any movie recently, choosing to go into the academia.
The union between Fenton and Clive has not only lasted over twenty years, it has also been blessed with two daughters. Their first child, Hannah Owen was born on June 8, 1997, her sister, Eve Owen was born on October 17, 1999.
While his relationship seems to be very perfect, the Sin City star was rumored to be dating German model, Toni Garrn. The rumor was fuelled as a result of pictures that the two have taken together and nothing more. As it would turn out, the rumor was nothing but the rumor that it is, as there was no further sign of the two having anything going. His relationship may be perfect after all, or at least from what we all can see.
Height and Weight
Without any doubt, the King Arthur actor has a very good height and body build. Because of that, it is hardly any surprise when he is given dangerous missions in movies or he plays action roles.
Looking at it in numbers, the actor stands at a height of 6 ft 2 in (188 cm) while his body weight is 192 lbs (87 kg).
