Owen was born on October 3, 1964, in Keresley, Coventry to a father who was in the entertainment circle as a singer. Nonetheless, the actor was raised alongside his siblings by their mother and stepfather after their father, Jesse Owens walked out on the family when Clive was only three years old.

While growing up, acting was not in the mind of the man who would grow to be one of the best actors in England. But then, thanks to a good theatre school in Coventry where he was raised, he had the opportunity to learn the art and see that he loved it not for the fame or anything else.

After graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Clive Owen began working in the theatre before he landed his first movie role in 1988 when he starred in Vroom. By 1991, he was already fairly famous after he played the role of Richard in Close My Eyes. He would go on to feature in many movies with the latest being Last Knights (2015), The Confirmation (2016), and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017). In 2018, he worked on Ophelia, Anon, and Three Seconds.

Apart from the movies, he has also had a great television career so far. His debut was in 1987 when he appeared in Rockliffe’s Babies. This was followed by other works such as Chancer, Sharman, and The Knick which he also produced in 2015.

With a career that has run for many years, the actor has won many awards including the Critics Choice award for Gosford Park, New York Film Critics Circle award and British Academy Film award for Closer, Central Ohio Film Critics Association award for Inside Man and Children of Men, as well as the Satellite award for The Knick.
