Jessica Rothenberg was born on May 28, 1987, in Denver, Colorado, USA. Rothe attended Cheery Creek High School in Greenwood Village, Colorado.

Upon graduating from high school, she gained admission into the Boston University where she studied for a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts. Her wide interest in the performing arts and the world of art, in general, led her to learn tap dancing, how to make pottery and how to play the violin while she completed her studies at Boston University.

She graduated from Boston University in 2009 and almost immediately. she began her career as a professional actress. Jessica Rother got her start on the small screen, making her debut in a small role in a 2010 episode of America’s Most Wanted: America Fights Back titled The Pink Panthers.

Her next small-screen role was that of Katie Clements in two episodes of The Onion News Network – a parody TV news show that aired on the Independent Film Channel.

And then came 2013, the year that Jessica Rothe would make her film debut in The Last Keepers. Earlier that year, she had a part in the short film, Promised Land. She beefed up her filmography more in 2013, adding the films; The Last Keepers, where she portrayed Jessica; The Hot Flashes, where she played Millie Rash, Bastards of Young and Jack, Jules, Esther and Me. For all of these roles, Jessica was credited with her full name as Jessica Rothenberg.

Rother didn’t ignore the TV, despite her increased activity in films – she booked parts in ace shows like Blue Bloods, Future Estates and High Maintenance. 2014 sort of flew by for Rothe as she managed to book only a couple of gigs – maybe she was taking a break from a busy year? OR she was just being careful about roles to jump on… It can be tricky for these actors!

The years to come did prove very successful for Rothe. In 2015 several of her projects were released – coming-of-age drama film, Lily & Kat, science fiction film, Parallels and American-French crime drama film, The Preppie Connection.

The following year, 2016, would turn out to be a remarkable one in Rothe’s career. In a string of about 7 films released with credits to her name, La La Land was the biggest. The film was a critical and commercial hit, making close to half a billion dollars from a mere budget of $30 million. What a HIT that was!

Jessica Rothe has since been very busy as the roles keep pouring her way. Some of her 2017 credits include; Happy Death Day (she reprised her role in the 2018 sequel) and Please Stand By.

Rothe’s parents immediately supported her upon noticing her acting traits which can be traced to her own mother who was a theater actress, as well as her paternal grandmother, Colleen Rothenberg – a successful actress in her own right.
