He attended the University of Louisiana where he played college football as a quarterback from 1987 to 1990.

Playing Career

In May 1991, he was signed to the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent but did not play a single game for the team. Doug Pederson’s Wife and Family

They say true love finds you at the most unexpected place and for Doug, it was on a blind date with Jeanie. Blind dates can be so unexciting, but this wasn’t the case for Doug and his beloved wife. The two met in 1990 at Johnny’s Pizza in Munroe, Louisiana and got married a year after. At the time, he was a college senior while Jeanie was still in senior high; these two desperately needed to be together and couldn’t wait to graduate from school.

Life was not rosy for the couple at the time as Doug was trying to build a career for himself while Jeanie was in school studying to get a degree in nursing but they held on to each other and weathered the storms together. They have three sons together. Doug has admitted his family has been his biggest support and motivation both as a player moving around the country playing for different teams and as a coach. They currently live in New Jersey.
