The beautiful, multi-talented award-winning actress Drew Barrymore, who was among Hollywood 100 most beautiful young women in the world in 2003 was born on February 22, 1975, in Culver City California in the United States of America. Being born in a family of entertainers, she gained early fame as a child. She gained popularity and caught the attention of movie lovers as a cute little girl who was 7 years old at the time she played a role in the E.T. Extraterrestrial in 1982.

At the tender age of 10, Drew Barrymore battled with smoking marijuana and consuming too much alcohol. Four years later, when she was fourteen, she went to rehab. After eighteen months, she was declared an adult and released from rehab but she left her parents to live all by herself in a rented apartment.

The young actress soon dropped out of high school to pursue a career in acting. In an interview with Oprah when she was fifteen, she described feeling overweight, alone and inadequate, with a busy mother who had no time and paid no attention to her psychological needs as a child, as the factors that led her to take succor in drinking and other vices. She also revealed that she had to do many odd jobs, including being a cleaner after leaving rehab in order to survive.

She returned to acting and starred in many movies such as Irreconcilable Difference, Cats Eye, Poison Ivy, to name a few. In 1995 at age 20, she began Flower Films, a movie production with her first and very successful movie, ‘Never Been Kissed Before’. The next year, she released another movie titled ‘Charlie’s Angels’. The movie was a big break and it raked in lots of money with the accompanying popularity. He was a member of the family film business with his father and siblings.

After their divorce, John became absent in Drew’s life, battling with alcohol addiction for years until he ran out of money and was diagnosed with cancer. With no money to take care of himself, Drew Barrymore took care of him until his death in November 2004.
