Elyes Gabel is an outstanding British television and film actor famously known for his remarkable role in the HBO fantasy series where he portrayed the character of Rakharo in the first two seasons. Elyes Gabel’s Biography

The movie star Elyes Cherif Gabel came into this world on the 8th day of May 1983 when he was born to English parents in Westminster, London. He spent his childhood days partly in London as well as Canada, holds British nationality and possesses Irish, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Algerian, and Dutch ethnicity. While he was growing, the actor completed his basic education at St. Damian’s Roman Catholic Science College situated in Greater Manchester. While there, Elyes nurtured a dream of pursuing an acting career after his graduation.

Soon after his graduation, he enrolled at Strodes College, while learning acting at the Northern Kids Theatre and Oldham Theatre. Being talented in front of the camera, he participated in several Broadway productions of his school. His wonderful performances prepared him for his first successful audition in 2001. During the audition, Elyes got a spot on the TV drama Casualty and decided to quit drama school so he could focus on his career.

Career and Rise to Fame

At the early stages of his career, Elyes Gabel portrayed the role of Jean-Claude Tournier in an episode of Casualty. After that, he got an opportunity to appear as the main character in the kiddies’ series I Love Mummy in 2002. He also appeared in plays such as Diary of Anne Frank and West Side Story, Oliver! The youngster earned his first award nomination in 2004 following his wonderful performance in Casualty. Later on, he made guest appearances in TV series including Dead Set, Doctors, and Apparitions.

Elyes Gabel made his big screen debut in 2008 while appearing in the horror thriller Boogeyman 3. He portrayed the character of Ben alongside , Chuck Hittinger, and Jayne Wisener. In the same year, he featured as Rob Cleaver in the British drama Waterloo Road. He portrayed Jose Rodriguez in the 2010 police procedural drama Identity along with . The following year, he starred in two films namely Psychoville and Everywhere and Nowhere.

The fast-rising actor earned his breakthrough when he joined the cast of the thriller Game of Thrones in 2011. In the series, Elyes played the role of Rakharo alongside , , and , among others. His other notable movies include Body of Proof, World War Z, A Most Violent Year, Spooks: The Greater Good, and Scorpion.
