Emily Jordan Osment was born on the 10th of March, 1992 in Los Angeles, California. Her mother, Theresa Osment, is an English teacher while her father, Michael Eugene Osment, is an actor. She was raised in a typical Roman Catholic home and attended Flintridge Preparatory School. Apart from her father being an actor, she also has an older brother – Haley Joel Osment who is also an actor.

With her increased interest in acting, she went to study Theatre at Occidental College in California. As a young actress, she featured in the comedy film, Spy Kid 2: The Island of Lost Dreams and Spy Kids 3-D Game Over. By 2006, she was mostly known for her role as Lilly Truscott in the Disney Channel television series, Hannah Montana and subsequently featured in the film, Hannah Montana: The Movie.

Emily Osment is also involved with several charity organizations. She designed a line of shirts for 2lovecollection.com in 2007 and the proceeds went to Make-A-wish Foundation and St. Jude Research Hospital.

Career

Emily Osment began her career in 1997 when she appeared in a commercial for a flower delivery company FTD. The following year, Emily was featured in the children’s preschool television series Biba Bear. She was only 7 years old when she made her feature film debut in The Secret Life of Girls in 1999. The American actress went on to work on television shows such as Touched by An Angel, Friends, 3rd Rock from the Sun and Goosebumps.

She then gained international recognition after taking on the role of Gerti Giggles in Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams in 2002 and its 2003 sequel, Spy Kids 3-D Game Over. Both movies were a huge success with over $200 million grossed worldwide.

In 2006, she got her breakout role as Lilly Truscott/Lola Luftnagle in the Disney Channel series, Hannah Montana. The show was a critical and commercial success and took Emily’s stardom to greater heights. Emily Osment appeared in all the seasons of the show until it ended in 2011.

In 2009, Emily brought her singing to the spotlight by getting signed to Wind-up Records. Her lead single, All the Way Up was released in August 2009 which was followed by an extended play (EP), All the Right Wrongs. Soon, she began going on tours, spanning across North America, Europe and Latin America. She later confirmed via her Facebook account that she had left Wind Up Records and was putting more efforts in her band, Ramshackle.

In 2013, she returned to acting by taking a role in the web series Cleaners, where she played a highly trained contract killer. She also clinched the lead role in the ABC Family TV series Young & Hungry in 2014, in which she played a personal chef to a tech millionaire. The show ran for five seasons and was cancelled in 2018.
