Fluminense

Fabinho began his professional career at Fluminense. On May 20, 2012, he was called into a first team matchday squad for the first time, as an unused replacement in a 1–0 win against Corinthians for the season’s Serie.

Rio Ave and Real Madrid.

Fabinho signed a six-year contract with Rio Ave in the Portuguese Primeira Liga on June 8, 2012. On July 19, Fabinho joined Real Madrid Castilla on a season-long loan after spending one month at Rio Ave. On the first day of the Spanish Segunda División season on August 17, he made his professional debut, playing 90 minutes in a 2–1 defeat against Villarreal.
