Glenn Scarpelli was born as Glenn Christopher Scarpelli on the 6th of July 1966. Most of his early days were based on arts and theatre. However, he still had some education. He went to St. Joseph Hill Academy. While there, his passion for acting was evident as he couldn’t keep it to himself. He shared his passion with his parents who were very supportive of him. However, he had to finish eighth grade at St. Joseph Hill Academy before any relevant move was made. After eight grade, his parents introduced him to a theatre manager in Manhattan. That began his journey as a child actor.

The actor was born in Staten Island, New York, USA, to Henry Scarpelli, the popular Archie Comics artist, and Claire Scarpelli – a retired costume expert for most Hollywood movies.

Glenn Scarpelli, via his parents’ influence, got his first shot at acting. He was just eight years old when he clinched his first professional acting job. His first role was in a commercial for Celeste frozen pizza. In what looked like a comedy commercial, Glenn Scarpelli had to consume 27 pieces of pizza that made him puke all through the night. It was a funny one but the commercial was a hit.

Glenn Scarpelli continued on series of commercials until he was ten years old. Golda’s Balcony was his first appearance in a TV show. It marked the beginning of his Broadway journey. Golda’s Balcony was a documentary of the life and times of a former Israeli Prime Minister, Golda Meir. He was also involved in Richard III, a Broadway show released in 1979. His performances got him more Broadway features.

Glenn Scarpelli worked with his father in developing the characters of the prestigious Archie Comics. They worked together to outline the various adventures of comic characters in Archie Comics. In 1985, Glenn Scarpelli in Hollywood was released as a series to mark the 70th anniversary of Archie Comics. Glenn Scarpelli’s character was pitted to have gone to Riverdale to hang out with other Archie Comics characters like Archie, Betty and Veronica.

 

His Acting Career

Forced Entry was the first movie Glenn Scarpelli acted. It’s a horror film written by his father and also a remake of another movie with the same caption. He also acted in Nunzio immediately after.

Glenn Scarpelli was billed for the sitcom One Day at a Time just two months into high school. He was attending the Professional Children’s School at the time. Though still in school at the time, he was at liberty to pursue his career. The school allowed its students to work and school at the same time. So, it was easy for Glenn Scarpelli to pursue his acting career while schooling.

Having made a spectacular performance for himself in One Day at a Time, he endeared himself to the heart of so many fans. One of his biggest fans was , the wife of the then President George Bush. His popularity as a child actor rose when he was invited by the First Lady to perform a piece during a charity show at the White House.

Before leaving the movie scene for college, Glenn Scarpelli had featured in other shows and movies like Jennifer Slept Here, The Love Boat, The Bloodhound Gang, Rivkin: Bounty Hunter, and MacGyver.
