Grace Phipps’ Biography

Grace Phipps or Grace Gillam, as she is also called is a young and upcoming actress who hails from Austin, Texas where she was born on May 4th, 1992. She was given the birth name Grace Victoria Phipps. She attended North East School of the Arts, a reputable institution in San Antoni, Texas and during her days in the school, she was an active member of the theatre group. Grace is said to have starred in several of the school’s theatre productions which are said to have included plays like Grease in which she appeared as Rizzo, A Little Night Music, Athena and The Odyssey by Mary Zimmerman.

Upon graduation from Robert E. Lee High School’s North East School of the Arts 2011, she proceeded to Columbia University where she is currently an undergraduate student.

The actress is said to enjoy knitting, reading, writing songs and and also love to play the guitar during her free time.

The Rising Star’s Family Life

From available sources, the actress is said to have come from a small family that consists of her mother, Kate Phipps, father, Gil Phipps and a junior brother. Although much is not known about Grace Phipp’s family, sources have it that their parents named her after the songs named ‘Grace’ by country singers Joe and Fish and ‘Victoria’ by Klint.

They all moved to Los Angeles when Gracie Phipps finished her high school to start her acting career.

Grace Phipps Career- Movie & TV Shows

Moving to LA was definitely a step in the right direction as Grace Phipps was able to land in barely 7 days, her first film role in the 2011 DreamWork movie Fright Night where she played Bee. That same year, she also got the role of Amy Tiffany Martin in the ABC  drama series The Nine Lives of Chloe King. In 2012, she got a recurring role as April Young, an edgy beautiful lady in the supernatural drama series, The Vampire Diaries, wrapping her role up in 2013. Grace was also in the 2013 short film The Signal as Zoe and three series – Baby Daddy in which she was cast as Megan till 2015; Teen Beach Movie in which she played Lela, a lovely girl who loves to ride bikes and the horror fantasy sitcom Supernatural in which she played Hael. In 2014, she appeared in the series Austin & Ally as Brandy Braxton, followed by several other movies and sitcoms in 2015 which consist of Dark Summer, Some Kind of Hate and Tale of Halloween.

In addition to her movies and television appearances is the 2015 Hawaii Five-0 in which she starred as Erica Young in the Episode: Wawahi moeʻuhane (Broken Dreams), CSI: Cyber as Vanessa Gillerman, Teen Beach 2 and Scream Queens in which she played the recurring role of Young Mandy Greenwell. Currently, the actress is on the sitcom Z Nation, playing the lead role of Sgt Lilly.

Her Musical Career

Grace Phipps musical career started to flourish when the soundtrack of the film Teen Beach Movie was ranked number 8 on the Billboard 200 chart in which her song “Falling for Ya” was included while it ranked at number 25 on Heatseekers Song Chart and on Hot Digital Songs Chart, it ranked 66. Grace has also featured in the songs “Cruisin for a Bruisin” which is said to have topped the charts of Billboard’s Kid Digital for several weeks, as well as “Like Me,” “Meant to Be,” and “Coolest Cats in Town”.

 

The actress and singer also performed the song “The Pilot and the Mermaid” alongside Ross Lynch in the Austin & Ally series. Her song “Gotta Be Me”, used in the film Teen Beach 2 was named for a 2015 Teen Choice award in the category of ‘Choice Song from a Movie or TV Show which she is said to have sung with Ross Lynch, , Garrett Clayton, John Deluca and Jordan Fisher.
