Hannah Simone is one of the two children born to her cross-national parents. She was born in London on the 3rd day of August 1980 and has one brother called Zach. While her father is of Indian descent, her mother has German, Italian and Greek Cypriot ancestry. A few years after her birth, her life took an interesting twist that would form the basis for what she does today.

She had a nomadic childhood and grew up living abroad, cutting across several continents. Hannah Simone attended schools in each including the American Embassy School in New Delhi. Her early childhood was spent in Calgary but from the age of 7, she lived in Saudi Arabia until the break out of the Gulf War. The other countries she lived in include Cyprus, India, Vancouver, London, Toronto before finally settling in Los Angeles.

While she lived in Cyprus, Greece, she worked as a fashion model. Her interest in politics was piqued as well which in turn drew her to international relations and politics. Moreover, she participated in local theatre productions and auditioned for plays in those countries. Simone is grateful for those years of itinerancy and credits it with helping her to constantly reinvent herself.

Hannah Simone attended the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, where she majored in International Relations and Political Science. After her first degree, she moved back to London and worked as a United Nations human rights and refugee officer for a year. Prior to that, she helped to research a book on women and children in war-affected countries with the Canadian foreign minister, Lloyd Axworthy.

Furthermore, she is passionate about human rights and sought for platforms to speak about issues she cares about. After a friend introduced her to hosting, she got on instantly. With a second degree in Radio and Television Production from Ryerson University in 2005, she began to build her skill set. Simone hosted HGTV Canada’s TV show Space for Living in its first season and then worked as a video jockey (VJ) on MuchMusic (2006-2008). She also served as a news presenter for Much News Weekly and hosted the show The NewMusic before moving to LA in late 2008.

From 2009 to 2010, she co-hosted WCG Ultimate Gamer alongside Joel Gourdin on Syfy. The following year, she joined the cast of FOX’s hit series, New Girl through its seven seasons as Cece opposite . She won the Teen Choice Awards Choice TV Breakout Performance — Female for her performance therein. During that time, she appeared on the web series, H+: The Digital Series (2012) and worked on numerous other films and TV shows. In 2013, she was featured in Gillette’s What Women Want campaign along with and Génesis Rodríguez. She also co-starred with in Train’s music video for his song Angel in Blue Jeans.

Her other on-screen credits include The Rocket Summer music video Same Air (2016), Flock of Dudes Beth (2016), Killing Gunther Sanaa (2017), hosting the first season of the reality competition TV series Kicking & Screaming (2017).

He also worked as a VJ at MuchMusic from 2009, probably as a replacement for Simone who stopped working in November 2008. Besides working in MuchMusic, they are both from British Colombia.

The duo has been together for the better part of a decade now, having tied the knot sometime in 2016, following 4 years of dating. They welcomed their first child, a son in August 2017.
