Blade Runner 2049 is a science fiction action film that was released in 2017 in the United States. The storyline of this film centers around some bioengineered humans known as replicants living on earth and posing a threat to the society. Now, a Blade Runner known as Officer K who works for the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is assigned with the task of hunting down and killing these replicants. While he was at it, Officer K also uncovers a deadly secret that posed a bigger threat to the very course of civilization.
Is Blade Runner 2049 Related To Blade Runner?

The initial Blade Runner, like Blade Runner 2049, is a science fiction released in 1982 in the United States and Hong Kong. The storyline follows the lives of 6 bioengineered humans called replicants who escaped to planet earth. A cop named Rick Deckard unwillingly accepts the mission of hunting these replicants down.
At this juncture, Blade Runner 2049 is not only related but it is also a sequel to the original 1982 Blade Runner. This recent release has its story based on the initial storyline of the prequel. This heightened the suspense in the movie and it is also known that the 2017 sequel retained some of the characters from the original 1982. was brought in to portray the character of Officer K, maintained his role as Rick Deckard, Ana de Armas was cast as Joi, while Sylvia Hoeks was seen as Luv. The film also had the likes of as Sapper Morton, as Lt. Joshi, as Mariette, amongst others.
Although the Blade Runner of 1982 received mixed criticism, it, however, received acclaims for being one of the best neo-noir science fiction action films at the time.
