Michael Dorn was born in Luling, Texas on the 9th of December, 1952. However, the emerging star spent his formative years in Pasadena, California and later went to Pasadena City College where he studied radio and television production.

After his graduation from college, the young Michael first pursued a career as a performer in music. He was actively touring with different rock bands across San Francisco and Los Angeles; however, he later switched to acting and made his debut in 1976 when he made an appearance in Rocky.

Beyond his acting career, Michael is a skilled pilot. As a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, the accomplished pilot has flown with “the Thunderbirds” – United States Air Force (USAF) demonstration squadron, and “the Blue Angels” – United States Navy’s flight demonstration squadron.

He is also a proud owner of several jet air crafts, among which are the Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star which he refers to as his “starship”, a North American Sabreliner and a North American F-86 Sabre.

Several aviation organizations have enjoyed his services, including the Air Force Aviation Heritage Foundation where the Michael Dorn is very active on their advisory board.
